At 4;45 you have an issue with the battery cable that’s going to cause a fire. Rewatch it

Dude youre really scarng me with safety. The cables, the ether, rpm red line makes me nervous. Be carefull

@@stevemac201 agreed!! That was a bit aggressive!! Also not checking the prop before engaging the outdrive. Also, instead of starting fluid just pump the throttle like an old carb'd car or truck.

Where did you get the shop manuel for the 4.3??
@nomad747773 жыл бұрын
I bought a used manual on ebay. It was very helpful. As a little update, the boat is running great.

@@nomad74777 ok thanks. I've been looking for a few weeks and couldn't find a manual for the 4.3 omg, seems like the only one I can find is a type of universal basic all pro manual.

Mine runs great at idle and under 1400rpm under load. As soon as I pass 1400 it sputters and dies. Runs perfectly on muffs! And ideas?

I had the same issue. It turned out I had two of the plug wires on the wrong spark plugs. I thought I had it right. I must have checked it four times. I felt really stupid when I figured it out. It ran perfect under no load and out of the water, but as soon as it was in the water, it ran like crap when under load. So I suggest you go slow and check the positioning of all your plug wires. If everything looks good, I would then move to replacing the coil. Then check and make sure your fuel filter is clean and the carb is working properly. But start with the plug wires. Good luck, I know how frustrating chasing ghosts can be.

@@nomad74777 I can recheck the plugs, I replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, points, condenser, fuel line, filter, separator, and tuned it to exact spec! Ran great that was 3 years ago. Haven't pulled anything since, last year I didnt take it out at all, and year before only 1 time, ran great! I'm thinking I need to re lubricate the mechanical advance and replace the points again (kid left the key on for a year!) Probably separator also fuel filter, but I'm leaning towards a bad timing issue? It does shake at idle now and didnt. But at 1200rpm on the water its smooth and responsive, just cant go past that or it dies like no spark, instant off! Let me know what you think? The reason for what I replaced was similar, idles good good low end, and no high! My points were burnt bad, and the mechanical advance wasn't moving enough. It was amazing after that! 48 mph out of a 1989 180 horizon 4.3 is impressive!

I replaced the main fuel line. I thought maybe it was collapsing on itself. Turned out I had two of the plug wires on the wrong plugs. Glad I figured out
