I found out about repressing too late to save half of a bronzer, but I know now. I guess if as the last step you press the top with a clean nylon stocking you can even get the pattern on top where it looks new. Kinda petty, but we all love that new pan look, lol.

I was actually thinking of doing this today when I saw the new palette colourpop just launched . The shades are so familiar that I want to put together all my favourite shades from them into one single giant palette. I am putting a stop to buying palettes for the sake of a few nice shades.

I love these types of videos! I use the same little pyrex style bowls, perfect since there's no grooves for the product to get stuck into. I am going to have to use a spray bottle from now on, such a better idea than pouring it in (which ends up getting WAY too much in there!)

The timing on this is perfect, I am just about to purchase a bunch of Tarte empty palettes to do a project like this (depot and keep shadows from palettes I really love). We have a stack of rectangular magnets with a sticky side we got from an office supply store a while back, and I can cut those to fit the non-magnetic pans. Thanks for a great zen video and the link to the other video.

I depotted all of mine. I think it’ll make it easier to use since they are condensed now. Keeping the colors that I really love instead of the entire palette.

I have loose highlighters I dont use enough..do you think i could use a similar method to try and turn it into a pressed powder highlight? Has anyone done this successfully before ? I kinda wanna experiment and mix them together, I was gonna do that earlier today but now I am glad I waited to have this video to learn from😊
@ginabinafofina5 жыл бұрын
adopt dontshop from what I’ve heard, repressing loose highlighters with this method won’t work since they don’t have the same bonding agents that pressed ones do. I think there are products out there that are meant for pressing loose products but I’d honestly be worried about changing the formula.
@nabihahzulkiflee20475 жыл бұрын
While i may not have the same formula as yours, but i recently diy my wetnwild precious petal highlighter into a cream highlighter with the sunscreen that i dont use everrrr. And thats the best decision that ive ever made! Its more blinding and ughhhh i love it! Better than the pressed version
@emm6125 жыл бұрын
Nisipisa has a video on Frankenmakeup that talks about this! You can, but you’ll want to use a silicone and an alcohol.
@rubyname88855 жыл бұрын
I have successfully done this multiple times so yea you can!
@elleimonoyama1525 жыл бұрын
gina is right. You'll need a binding agent to make it more stable. I think you can get it at TKB? Try a small portion first so at least you won't waste a whole jar of it if it doesn't work. Also try Nabihah's idea of turning it into a cream highlighter instead. Wet highlighters will definitely give a more blinding result.

Hi Lauren! Does the alcohol affects the texture or color payoff afterwards? TY!
@OrangevayaMysh5 жыл бұрын
If you add it sparingly and let it evaporate for a bit after smushing it into a pan before pressing with a towel it will be fine. If there is too much alcohol the towel absorbs too much binder and the formula will change. I messed up a blush like that..
@LaurenMaeBeauty5 жыл бұрын
It depends on the product and I L Crook has some great tips!! Ultimately, I try my best not to repress unless I have to but with the highlighters I haven’t noticed any change! The Dose of colors mattes were super weird though and dried away from the sides of the pan and so I decided it needed to go! Hope that helps! :)
@FreyaWarr5 жыл бұрын
You have to use 91% alcohol. If you use lower it might mess with the formula.

Has anyone ever repressed a becca luminous blush? I got one as a gift yesterday but it’s broken. I tried dry repressing it but that isn’t working. I don’t want the formula to change though.
@carlysand77715 жыл бұрын
The rubbing alcohol evaporates, so theoretically the formula doesn't change at all. I'm no expert, but that's my understanding of the process she's using.

Rubbing alcohol is good. I repressed my fenty highlighter with it and it works
@Jamie111905 жыл бұрын
Shenise Caesar I’ve used alcohol a ton to repress things. I’ve repressed champagne pop, opal, Fenty hustle baby, countless eyeshadows, just a lot of things I’ve repressed. But some formula’s, it changes. Most recently I repressed caramel from Looxi (matte brown) & it definitely ruined it. Also. I read on Reddit that someone repressed their mineral Becca blush & it ruined the formula. I think it’s because it has a different base. My thought process was this was luminous so it shouldn’t change anything too much.
