Living in AZ I haven't been able to find local breeders. I suspect, as you mentioned, that is because they can't be sold. I hate to pluck them from the wild though. They are such wonderful lizards.

Hello Uncle Jerry! Sawyer here. We recently had a beautiful Angel Island Chuckwalla donated to the reptile room. The lady who brought him said she got him from a guy near Mesa named Kelly. Is that the same Kelly I'm thinking of? I loved your video, you really need to come visit Clints Reptile Room in Springville UT some time!

Awesome very informative video! Thank you! Do you know where I can get my hands on some CB babies of San Esteban chuckwalla? Their large size captivated me in my search for a medium sized lizard that was handleable, safe, ate vegetation, and still moderately beginner friendly. (I also considered an Egyptian uromastyx, and black headed monitor as they get to a nice large size too). I'm from Southern California, and have been having trouble finding breeders for these guys; What do you think? Thank you again!

Any reptile native to Arizona. You could legally breed them and kill them but not sell them or trade them. You can give them away.

You can get a permint to sell chuckwallas in California. Not that its easy.
