Most of the senior players like Oliseh and Finidi etc were exiled from the team after the nations cup that January…The new manager had to pick a whole new team for the World Cup with only months to spare.. He picked a young inexperienced squad with only Okocha and maybe Kanu as the only surviving senior players left. We took a very poor team to that World Cup in ‘02

You can see Okocha there with his strangulating pass. Aghahowa has a very sharp reflex. He did not pass to Okocha and go to sleep, he started running and collected the long pass from Okocha.
