Hey everyone!
To start off my spring break, I ventured over to one of Recology's Monday routes in Seattle. With the intention of finding a Bridgeport MSL, when this truck appeared upon a right turn, my jaw dropped. A quick turn around led me to a McDonald's parking lot, where it came to my knowledge that Republic also does commercial compost in Seattle in addition to Cedar Grove. After receiving the green light to film, I followed along for the remainder of the stops on this route - consisting of, besides the two 96 Milleniums @ McD's, a 2-dumpster stop and an insane 5-dumpster stop, all just food scraps and food soiled paper (albeit any contamination, of course.) This truck is a spare for the driver's normal ACX rear loader, which I was told broke down the prior Friday. Plus, this route is normally done at 5am (when you don't have to wait 15 minutes for a FedEx truck to finish unloading in a garage so you can service the bins.) Needless to say, I was extremely lucky to stumble upon this beast - which is one of, if not the only, Mack LE remaining in the greater Seattle area. Up there with my favorite chassis' of all time too, because it's hard to get enough of those classic brake releases - especially since this is only my second time filming an LE! Also, if you look close enough in some of the shots, you can see the faded Allied Waste logo on the side of the body that's been painted over for years now. I'd say this is my best find in Seattle to date - since this is just such a neat truck that barely ever runs these days. So, HUGE thank you to the very friendly driver and his helper for allowing me to follow along and record - made my week! Enjoy the video!
