You're not an idiot! Since the war components are not fully developped, its normal that you did not see the colors. It's really fun to see you play. Unlike other content creator, I feel that you play the game really well and you take the time to understand each elements. Continue your great work! ❤

The minute is heard you say ‘I’ll do a Timelapse for the farming area’ i got so excited. You made amazing farm villages in anno 1800 so couldn’t wait for this one!!

46:03 Looks like "ground elder" (Aegopodium podagraria), it's basically a harmless wild weed. We used to have it everywhere, even in city parks.

I thought the taxation was bugged when I suddenly saw I was swimming in money! You're right, it's not 10% of the monthly income, it just straight up converts x% of the regional treasury into your personal treasure at the end of each month. Feels OP, but it's not too immersion breaking if one imagines the trade profits are being taxed. About the infinite money thing, I'm playing a version which has the 'goods demand' mechanic and it makes a lot of sense to me. Limits trade income without making things too complicated. Being able to sell a million shoes and then keep selling them for the same price would be pretty broken (it made Ostriv too easy after a point). At least this way you can't rely on just one good to be your steady source of income, and there's plenty of goods you can produce and experiment around with for trade.
@Ryggy8 ай бұрын
I like your idea about limiting trade to once a year timeline. However to keep trade only towns possible maybe allow 1 or 2 trade goods which ignore that limit. The town itself doesnt exist in a vacuum so maybe at game start you can set what the neighbouring regions produce and only those two goods are frequently traded, everything else is beyond your local trade region and takes up to a year for travel.

To be honest, a small settlement of a dozen families would historically be protected at best by like 5-8 guys locally, in most cases none as the local troops would be from a more populated area. Also, militia would be incredibly limited, like farmers with pitchforks, not spearmen with shields. Many little villages would run rather than fight, or just capitulate to raiders.
@michaelgreening43218 ай бұрын
From what I have watched, from a few other people. The army size is capped. I'm fine with that, but if u have more than one region. I think u should be able to add more. Maybe a cap pre region. Can't wait to try it tomorrow.

Maybe make trade frequency and adjustable difficulty factor? Also, I watch you because you make mistakes. You are a gamer that is a step or two above me, so I can be inspired without being overwhelmed. You're the only youtuber I pay a membership to, and it's worth it. Keep it up

Thank you! Yeah I'm very lucky people choose to watch and hang out with me, because I'm certainly not the most efficient (nor am I attempting to be) I'm just trying to come across as a friend who enjoys the games you do, and can also lend a guiding hand generally speaking. By the way the next episode is out for members!
@Squant8 ай бұрын
@@WhatDarrenPlays I'm watching for similar reasons. I want to see somebody who doesn't know already everything, but is able to figure stuff out as they play. It's really helpful to hear your thought process as you experiment with the game mechanics, because even if you turn out to be wrong, I probably would have had the same ideas.

Man, I love how any time you go into first person mode, the location looks so pretty you could convince me its a shot from an rpg like Witcher 3 or Kingdom Come Deliverance. Rather than a side thing you can do in a city builder. Question, do villagers path around without roads if need be? Because I notice you dont have a road between the Naul curent village, and the farms you made, so maybe the workers have to take a super long route around on the Kingsroad?
@phillee28148 ай бұрын
They take the route with the least effort, from what I've seen. I'm really hoping someone will try just building the facilities, then watching to see the routes that people take cross-country, and building only those roads. Once I have the decent PC put together, I'll try that unless someone does it first and finds it doesn't work well. That is pretty much how roads originally developed, after all. Once the road is built on the route they would customarily take anyway, the characters just move a bit faster, I believe.

Have you thought of smaller longer farm plots so its more like medieval strip farms
@WhatDarrenPlays8 ай бұрын
No I wont be doing that, just because I've gone with this style now. Had I know before then maybe I would've done that instead. I don't know much about history tbh, so I just go with what looks natural to my eye rather than what was probably realistic. The farms where I grow up are all curvy and windy and the land is broken up based on terrain, so I tried following contour lines of the topography and varying the plot sizes from 0.5 to 1.5 morgens.

Fair enough, I'm really enjoying your play through, It sounds like the developer is listening and hopefully won't sell out to a large gaming house
