bottom right pin out of the ecm plug is the ignition power to the cat ecm, the tach sensor you installed and the speed sensor needs to touch then back out a turn, tighten the jam nut. get a wiring diagram and many of the things you need to work will go to the ecm plug so the dash works correctly.

Legs Arms, you have a machinist/mechanic mind set, more patient than a lot of men and thorough. Good on ya! Those are good qualities in someone who is married, a Dad, a son, a brother, and a believer. I appreciate your overal gentle spirit that is strong and determined. In the NT that is called meekness. It is also called gentleness which is the opposite of what God called the Israelites several times in the OT..."Stiffnecked". Stiffnecked referred to the ox or animal in a harness who refused lower the head, embrace the yoke so as the do the work. The gentle spirit was willing to work even when it requred real effort. It was understood as gentle because it did not fight the "teamster" or the farmer who was in control of trying to get the work done....rather the animal was yielded, broken from his own desires to follow or obey the desires of another. Ultimately we understand that the animal who refused to lower the neck, embrace the load was many things but ultimately useless and lazy. The one who would see the work and follow the directives given was genuinely valuable as he learned to work with others in the same yoke. Farming teaches all of these lessons and more. I SO appreciate your channel and enjoy the work you guys do as you serve the Lord through farming.

Nick, i like how you and Leg Arm's work so well with each other, along with your dad who fits in well. I always like the deconstruction process, and like any project, you find rust that has to be fixed, but you guy's always manage to fix stuff so that it's sound, and will last for a long time. The salt is so harsh on everything. I parted out a 55 cj5 that had been used on the Michigan salt belt, and parts of it were a pain to get the cotter pins and bolts off. I had to cut the u bolts for the leaf spring's, and two of the leaf spring's to completely take everything good to save for the 54 m38a1 jeep that was never road titled, just had 70 year old bolts and cotter pins that were so much easier to remove because the salt hadn't eaten the hardware up. I guess the salt saves lives, but it sure destroys any vehicle's. I've been trying to stay active because of the muscle wasting from the progressive MS i have, but was shut down for several day's because we had some really hot and humid weather with heat advisories, and the heat is really bad for the MS, but thankfully it's cooled down enough to get busy. Thanks for filming all these project's, i really like watching you fellas fix and fabricate, and saving money. G-d bless.

A good thick coat of paint seals the residual rust in, and keeps it moist and warm so that it can grow under ideal conditions. To "kill" the rust use any one of the many phosphoric acid rust converters. It is also available cheap at foodservice stores as limescale remover. It converts the rust left behind by the wire wheel into inert iron phosphate which is the same coating as on your impact wrench sockets.

All I got to say is you guys are genius. Makes for very interesting videos.

That area under the fifth wheeler needs a good coating of phosphoric acid to neutralize all of that rust before you paint it. You can't get it out microscopically with the grinder or a brush

If you need to clean out the cooling system - and you don't have any aluminum parts in it - you can run water and a couple of cheap generic dish washing soap pods in it. The soap is slightly caustic, so it does a reasonably good job of cleaning out the cooling system. It does a number on aluminum though if it is left in the cooling system. So if you do decide to use them, you will need to flush the cooling system several times (like 4 or 5) with clean water. Make sure the cooling system gets hot enough to open the thermostat a couple of times, or leave the thermostat out while cleaning (just remember to put it back in).

Hello Leg Arm just a silly thing but sure you have all ready have it hand but as you now have different metals in the water way for coolant to keep your nice new engine cool have you got a place to put in an sacrificial anode so it eats that away first before eating away inside of your engine or your radiator or the heater in the cab or oil coolers wishing you a wonderful day and coming weekend and you all keep safe and well

That rust you removed is actually frame structure and it has weakened the frame in that area. A full load on that frame can actually fold the frame if no plating is added to that area. The frame channel, or flange is where the strength of the frame is rated.

That’s rust jacking on the frame between the frame and the 5th wheel. We had that on our 1989 377 and it led to the frame cracking. We replaced the frame rails from the back of the fuel tanks back. It was so bad when they took the 5th wheel off the top rail of the frame disintegrated.

You were buffing the frame it make me think Back in the early 80's I worked offshore on Sea Robin Pipeline for United gas Pipeline. We had a boat the Sea Robin II it was a steel hull boat. They waited to long to leave fora hurricane and hit a wave and busted out the wheel house windows. Well later on the deck under the flooring started rusting and we had to brush the rust off like that. You would go home at night and shower and the water would be black and you could tell if you missed a spot washing real easy.

That’s rust jacking. Very common. Even in the south. I’m in FL and it happens alot here as well. And judging by that frame design it’s never been a dump truck and if you call the dealer and give them the vin they will tell you exactly what it was when it was new but I’m willing to bet it’s never been. Dump truck. Could have hauled a dump trailer at some point but again looking how that frame is designed it’s probably been a road tractor it’s whole life
