During the Ark of Truth movie, the Odyssey was capable of taking a sustained bombardment from 4 Ori motherships' main beam weapons for several minutes without its shield failing. And during the final episode of SG-1, the Odyssey is depicted as being able to destroy an Ori mothership in just 2 or 3 hits with its own Asgard beam weapons. This is to say that a refit Daedalus-class is *far* more powerful than an Ori mothership, so for you to be able to destroy the refit Odyssey easier than the Ori mothership just shows how poorly balanced those mods are relative to each other.

The issue comes from two sides: - The Husnock's pulse weapon mod-wise is designed to drain a set % of the shields, so a ship of a million shield strength would have its shields drained as fast as a ship with 300 trillion shield strength. - The pack shown here is an older version from a decade ago (except the BC-304, which was just a very slight non-balanced cosmetic tweak to a decade-old mod to bring canon sounds and beam colors), not the most up-to-date currently on gamefront (which finally got updated a few days ago after the gamefront server shortage) - the newer version (Canonical Alteran Technologies + SG1, SGA and SGU generic overhaul mod) grabs the pre-existing vessels and makes them more balanced (and for capital ships, more powerful). For example, on the pack seen on this video, that BC-304 is a re-edit of a previous mod whose shields did not have any gimmick to help resist those weapons, and its Asgard beams were not tuned for proper damage either, so at the distance they were fighting the beam was underperforming as well. Additionally, this video is also showing not only an outdated version of the Stargate Pack 3.0, but also an outdated version of the Wraith SuperHive and outdated versions of the drones (apparently the outdated version of the mod, or the outdated version of the tweaked BC-304, was installed after the Canonical Alteran Technologies). The only one which was up-to-date was the Atlantis with 3 ZPMs, whose shield canon-wise and game-wise will not go down unless you manually lower your own shields or until the ZPM energy is depleted.

Memory Alpha actually paints this ship as just the Delta Rana Warship and in fact, implies it might even be a true Husnock warship. If it is, I don't think that the capabilities of the ship are accurate. In fact, I think the initial attack on the Enterprise is the actual capability and the rest was just amped up by Kevin Uxbridge really wanting them gone.

This was an awesome one to watch. Ya poor Apophis always had a bad day. I'm surprised you didn't face off Anubis' ship. I'm surprised the Odyssey held on for as long as it did. Although I wonder if it would have been stopped had it been powered by 3 ZPM's. I'm happy that a fully powered (3 ZPM) Atlantis was able to defeat the Huscnock. I laughed when you collided and you blew up but you went through the city. Of course the little blooper mishap at the end too lol. I take it not even that ship could stop a fully powered (3 ZPM) Atlantis?

So the Husnock shields can stop incoming matter and their weapons can stop incoming ships. Also its hull can apparently stop external damage from showing up visibly and the ship as a whole can almost stop certain game engines as well! Looking at the back of the Husnock warship, I can't help but think about a Pagani Zonda or Utopia sports car. Yes, the warship has got seven exhaust pipes and not just four arranged in a cylindrical manner, but it might run on like a V16 with antimatter nitrous injection. Would explain the power this thing can put out.

The Husnock warship was only so op because Uxbridge used his powers to make it unstoppable for the Enterprise. So it's anyone's guess as to what it's *real* capabilities are. Kinda moot anyways because this game is all over the place in terms of ships actual power, and the A.I. is pretty moronic. It's fun to watch nonetheless, but absolutely NONE of any of these battles have even been close to accurate in any sense or context 😂

I don't think it's the game at fault here, but the fact that the ships in all these videos are modded by who knows how many different authors, each one with their own interpretation of how powerful their ships should be. I haven't actually played Bridge Commander in probably 15 years, but even then ship mods were all over the place in terms of balancing (and quality of course) and there was definitely a power creep with new ship mods trending towards being increasingly OP. Plus comparing ships from different universes is always gonna be highly subjective. Even within the same universe power levels can be debatable. At the end of the day we are dealing with works of fiction here 🙂

@@razvanmazilu6284 actually the ships shown here are from an out-of-date decade-old mish-mash of mods, with only the BC-304 used on the video being merely a recent sfx and gfx cosmetic change to another decade-old mod. There are two patches on gamefront (Canonical Alteran Technologies + SG1, SGA and SGU generic overhaul mod) which properly adjust SG firepower and balances them better between each other and the rest of the game (f.ex. not making a Goa'uld staff weapon from a Death Glider deal half of the damage of a Goa'uld Ha'tak's main pulse weapon shot) and keep the new weapon textures and sounds.

Funny thing is that if we are to go with the idea that the Husnock Warship's shields can absorb all matter then the Human's are the weakness of this race. Their 302's would pinpoint jump past the Husnock's shield grid and launch their Mark IX naquadria enhanced nuclear missiles. At the low end these enhanced missiles yields were 200 gigatons and could be scaled up to 2000 gigatons (2 teratons). In perspective at max payload 6 of these warheads was used in the Horizon weapons platform, when deployed it completely vaporized an entire continent on the planet Asuras. So I don't believe there is a single race in Star Trek that could withstand 200 gigatons of energy against their hulls. FYI if we detonated the Earths entire nuclear weapons arsenal at once, 15,000 nuclear weapons, the output would only be around 1.46 gigatons. So this weapon system is insane to be build by Humans combining Ancient and Human tech.

Ok so before everybody starts complaining about the mods being unbalanced, issue comes from three things: - The Husnock's pulse weapon mod-wise is designed to, apart from dealing a certain part of normal damage, to drain a set % of the shields, so a ship of a million shield strength would have its shields drained as fast as a ship with 300 trillion shield strength, unless a ship has a special modded tech to counter in some way that drain. - Additionally, this video is also showing not only an outdated version of the Stargate Pack 3.0, but also an outdated version of the Wraith SuperHive and outdated versions of the drones (apparently the outdated version of the mod, the outdated version of the tweaked BC-304, or some old mod that reintroduced outdated Drones like the Abunai, was installed after the Canonical Alteran Technologies). The only one which was up-to-date ship-wise was the Atlantis with 3 ZPMs, whose shield canon-wise and game-wise will not go down unless you manually lower your own shields or until the ZPM energy is depleted (yes, this is a tech modded into the game).

Data said: "Incomming matter and energy", not only matter. But I bet you knew that ;) Still don't get why people think the Husnock are such an unstoppable power. The ship we saw there was a projection from a god being, that tried to scare away the Enterprise, not an actual Husnock ship. That's why it was as powerful or as weak as it needed to be to accomplish the god being's wishes. Remember the Enterprise blew it up with a single aft torpeto after it wiped the floor with it not minutes before.

The problem with Atlantis drones is they are not scaled correctly, and if they were, they might be too OP for the game. Remember, the capability of the drone was both connected to, and limited by, the power source of the control chair or mechanism firing them. Yeah, it's stupid, but that's what they went with. We never saw the full 3 ZPM Atlantis drone abilities well, the full 1 ZPM drone on the ships were unstoppable, so it stands to reason 3 would be even more so. The drones fired in SGA were by lesser races without full ZPM and were less powerful when fired. Even the Asurans with their ZPM might not have been as strong as the originals. We don't know if their tech was truly as powerful as the Ancients, or if they were just lesser powered copies. We only saw their 1 ZPM ships, and their drones weren't as affective as the Ancients ship drones, so that makes me think they were not as good as the originals. Anyway, if the game is scaling to what they "saw" on the show, then they might not be as powerful as they would have been for a full 3 ZPM Atlantis.

For some reason it' won't let me reply, so I will try this. Scaled to what? That's my point. This game is using one lore's scaling rules for a non-lore technology. Both franchises follow the same rule that the strength their shields and weapons are determined by their power generation capabilities. And nothing in Trek comes close to the power created by the ZPM, not even in the 32nd century. No normal Trek weapon should be able to touch a 1 ZPM shield, let alone a 3 ZPM shield. And since we know how powerful those drones are, we know no Trek shield seen so far could withstand a 1 ZPM drone, let alone a 3 ZPM drone. Now in fairness, I will give the Husnock a little credit. We don't know their actual capabilities. They are not real. The ship in the show was a manifestation by a magical being who destroyed their entire species with a thought. We don't know if the abilities of the ship, were the ship or the magical being. Personally I believe it was the magical being playing with the Enterprise. So there may not be an upper limit to their power...but it's not the ship it was the being.
@alexslgato1735
@alexslgato1735 Ай бұрын
@@unarealtaragionevole Scaled to the degree that drones need energy to work better, that is. First, excluding the obvious (that without energy shields and weapons cannot be activated) Star Trek does not follow the rule of more energy = more shield power - at least, to the degree of installing a ZPM overloading the shield. Neither does Stargate regarding weapons - true, a bit more power on a ST or SG ship could help into boosting weapons, and naturally some weapons and more advanced shields require more energy to work than a less powerful version. But that does not mean that a type of shield is automatically upgraded onto a better shield, just a stronger one, and to a limit. Back to Stargate weaponry, with the exception of drones and the Wraith pulse weapons, every other weapon seen on the franchise does not have its weapon output power exponentially increased (on the case of drones, it's just because it has more energy to keep hitting and doing holes onto a ship, not because the drone explodes; and for the Wraith because Wraith tech's primary obstable is energy and better power generation meant that the ship could become bigger and deal far bigger and powerful shots), at most the weapon will be able to fire for longer in some cases. Something similar applies to Stargate shields actually - while it is true a ZPM will boost noticeably a ship shields'; excluding the perfect case of Atlantis shield, for every other shield seen on-screen there seems to be a limit to that gimmick, having some upper limit to the degree the ZPM can cover. If I remember correctly on the fight against the Ori in Origin, the BC-304's shields managed to become depleted rapidly, but that did not mean the ZPM had been depleted. In fact, it seems far more plausible that what is going on is that excluding the Alterans, the Ori and the Asgard, pretty much everybody else's ships are running with generators that do not provide enough power to get the max juice from their ships' safe capabilities (pretty much all of them are based on Goa'uld energy methods, which provide enough for the ship to be functional, but not the best) - well that and different shield gimmicks because even on Stargate not all shields work and behave equally, too (see below). Second, what was always the cutting edge was using more advanced technology, or a tech that worked as a trump card against another - f.ex. proof of this is that a regular Goa'uld vessel was easily one-shot by Tollan Ion Weapons and Asgard Beliskner Ion Weapons because Goa'uld shields were too primitive to block the weapon, not because they were not strong enough. With a very little tune-up, a single, slightly upgraded Anubis Ha'tak could destroy an entire Planetary Defence Grid of them without receiving any shield damage - here it is absurd to consider the tune-up only made the shields more powerful, because we've seen that an Anubian Ha'tak is at most a 1 vs 6 odds against regular Ha'taks, it's not the Eye of Ra Superpowered Superweapon! Third, is that each type of shield has its own gimmicks, for example Asgard Shields will not drop from constant bombardment if the damage of each hit was too low (something that the updated mod covers), Atlantis city-ship shields will not collapse unless the ZPM energy drops (something also covered on the updated mod), and lore-wise, despite Tricobalt Devices being very powerful demolition charges, they did next to nothing to a Federation shield because the rate of expansion of the explosion was too low, similar to how Naquadah nukes are ineffective agaisnt Goa'uld Apophis Ha'tak shields. Also mod-wise, as I said, the mod Retro used on this video was an outdated one (the up-to-date one actually follows the SG scale very faithfully - an Asgard Beliskner main weapon can one-shot (or at most two-shot) a Ha'tak, but Anubis Ha'taks are extremely resistant to that weapon, 4 Asgard Beam shots at full power penetrate Ori Warship shields, an Ori Warship main beam at full power punches through any Ha'tak's shields and punch through a regular BC-304 from Season 9 with two shots, the SuperHive ship can shrug Asgard Beams with minimum damage and its shots will damage the BC-304s severely after 12-15 shots at most). As for the Husnock mod being overpowered, yes, it is. When checking its scripts, its pulse shots deal an additional % damage - there's a point where the shields are practically equally drained by them regardless of having 1000 or a trillion shield strength.
@unarealtaragionevole
@unarealtaragionevole Ай бұрын
@@alexslgato1735 I agree with some of what you're saying, but more energy output does equal stronger shields and weapons, in both franchises. In all Star Trek tech guides, it says that shield strength is determined by the amount of power you can run through the shield generator, the more energy you use the stronger the shield. And it's standing policy that the limiting factor of Stargate shield strength is the amount of energy they are able to produce. Now when it comes to drone weapons in Stargate, they specifically say that the strengthof the drones is determined by the power of energy source for the control chair or firing mechanism. I don't know how they come up with that, but that's what they said. With Star Trek, I will agree this might be splitting hairs, but the principal is the same to me. Their weapons are determined by the amount of energy they can produce. We know this cause when they want to supercharge their weapons what do they do? They overload their weapons by channeling more power directly into them. So the strenth of their weapons is determined by the amount of energy creating. I would challenge that the Tollan Ion cannon situation is not a good counter argument. It's the same situation we see the Klingons use in Generations. You're correct, I don't think their upgrade made the shields 'more powerful' although we can't say that cause we don't actually know what their upgrade was...however, instead it's more likely that once they had the "frequency" they were able to adapt their shielding. However, we also know that there's a flaw with the Tollan defense system, they didn't have a lot of them cause they didn't need them. Instead they had few of them in strategic locations. We don't know if an entire defense grid was really established and used at the same time, or if the upgraded shields were able to hold up and they just took them out one by one. So this wasn't power scale issues as much was it was an effectiveness scale. In the case of Stargate's lesser races, even the Asgard, could never fully use a ZPMs full potential. It was too much power and they were limited in their ability to harness and use it in their systems. They could get a bump, but a small bump. So they never had the full power of the ZPMs. And finally the Ori....are a mess. They are inconsistently shown through the entire show. We don't know how powerful the Ori are or are not, especially compared to Lanteans. We never see a real toe to toe. Yes, they were more powerful than the others at first. But that' because their weapons were so powerful they easily overcame all shields. And their weapons were determined by their energy outputs. However, we don't know if their energy abilities were similar to different than the Lanteans. It's never really said.

@@unarealtaragionevole The inside of an Ori mothership uses zero-point extraction of vacuum energy akin to a ZPM or the Arcturus Project - the difference is that it is more primitive-looking and more aesthethically pleasing, needing to be a huge ovoid shape. We can make certain comparisions on the fact that net-wise some of the energy generation-shield-gimmicks-and-strength ratio made it so it required 4 Asgard Beam shots to penetrate an Ori shield (plus another 2 to destroy it) while the 10 thousand-year-ago Asuran copies of the Lantians only needed two to be destroyed.

Is this with the generic overhaul mod? Your stargate ships seem way weaker than normal. I tested with the Husnock and Odyssey the Odyssey was able to do alot more damage. @RetroBadgerGaming

No, it wasn't with the overhaul mod - the only ship that was acting more or less like it should was the Atlantis City-ship, and yet her drones were overwritten by somebody else's mod.

Does the Odyssey class have the Asgard beam weapon? If Atlantis has drones, it's good bye time. 😄 As for the Goa'uld ship. If that's Anubis and he has the eye of Ra... maybe. Ok, on to the fights. 😀 Wow, the only thing that seemed to be a match for the Husnock battleship were the Lantian drones. I really thought that the Asgard beam weapon would have been more effective. I was pretty sure that not much else would work. It was hilarious... your shields weren't even draining. Somehow drones just go through anything. There's an idea (though it may have been done). The armored Voyager vs the Husnock.

The mod shown on the video, excluding the Alteran City, is missing the proper patch to have it up-to-date. That also goes for the Asgard and Ori Beams, which were underperforming, and the drones, which should be doing multiple sweeps.
@RetroBadgerGaming
@RetroBadgerGaming Ай бұрын
@alexslgato1735 the odd thing is I did install the patch. I did however install a tonne of other mods and I wonder if somehow it got over written? I know for a fact I installed it as it had the extra wraith ships listed before they were installed, whereas the original ship pack doesn't. I didn't realise until watching the video back....

@retluoc those drones are unstoppable. They can even take down the Enterprise J. I wonder if they can defeat Captain Braxton? The Asgard beam did seem to struggle against the husnock. The Ori on the other hand were definitely more of a threat.

By the time of SG-1 S6, every non-Tauri capital ship in Stargate is vastly more powerful than almost any ship in Star Trek based on the calculated power outputs required for the demonstrated FTL speeds. The Tauri ships didn't catch up to that until the end of S9 when they acquired the Asgard beam weapons.

Stargate is on an entirely different level than Star Trek. Excepting the Voth, 8472, First Federation, and 29th Century Federation, none of the non energy being races have a chance against anything high end Stargate. Even the Borg would struggle against an upgraded Goauld Mothership if not lose outright.

I've been able to defeat the husnock with the odessy. You. Must get behind it. You cannot tank it from the front. Only an ancient city with zpms can safely tank it from the front with little effort. The ori can out damage it if it uses its front beam weapon. The ori had the husnock beat. But the computer played stupid and turned the ori ship around exposing it's back.

if it's not been brought up, permit me,.... the Husnock ship/Race itself, is not particularly overpowered,....rather it was Kevin Uxbridge/The Douwd , who empowered the facsimile Husnock vessel to whatever abilities it needed to chase off any Intruders to his world and discover his crimes. a NORMAL! Husnock ship might not been any tougher than a Hirogen battle cruiser or a Klingon Dreadnaught!

So the Asgard in the Pegasus galaxy did not have weapons that could cut through Atlantis's shields like butter. They opened a hyperdrive window inside the shields. A nearly suicidal maneuver only possible because how tiny the asgard ship was and a large Atlantis's shields are. Also why wasn't the Destiny in this clip. A fully powered and repaired Destiny should be quite the challenge.
