Thank you for another wonderful reaction. This is their latest title track, written/composed by Hyunsik and released 5 months ago, I believe. Yes, this is a beautiful uplifting song that has a nice beat and catchy melody but also a bit sad and nostalgic when it comes to the lyrics. And your interpretation of the lyrics is so good and so close to the truth. This can be a song for anyone or the fans or even for a loved one. But as a Melody..most of us believe that this is their song for their former member, Ilhoon. Coz after he had left the group in 2020..he endured all those court trials while 4 BTOB members were having hard times in the Kingdom competition and 2 members were enlisted and they can't be there for each other. Those were their darkest and lowest time in their lives..trying to endure the pain of losing a member..facing netizens' criticisms and cancel culture ways..they can't even show the people their love and support for their member coz everyone expected them to turn away and reject him just because he made a mistake. But we know that they supported Ilhoon and helped him in any way they can. Then last year, when all was ok..Ilhoon went travelling in Europe..stayed for 6 months there, maybe to forget, to heal and to fix is life while BTOB was also busy performing abroad and making comeback. Melody knows that everyone was already doing fine and has moved on..Ilhoon seemed ok too and was back to posting happy photos. Then BTOB released this song and the 1st time Melody watched it and heard the lyrics..we got teary eyed too coz all words were screaming out Ilhoon's name. Maybe they are all ok now, have come to terms with what happened, have accepted that he can never return to the group again..but that doesn't mean they forgot about him or that they don't care anymore. They've been together years before debuting in 2012..stayed in one room, in one dorm..shared so many moments and lived like real brothers..I'm sure the friendship and brotherhood they have is that strong..nothing can take that away. So this song is just proof that they still have that love for him and wishing him happiness and hoping that he knows they still care and think of him a lot. And we know Ilhoon knows that too.

I've heard from a lot of comments that they feel this song was for Ilhoon and honestly, whether it is or isn't really for him doesn't matter because what matters is the fans and the group can all interpret it to whoever they want in their hearts. I love that this song can be sent to almost anyone instead of specifically one situation. I also love that it really does seem to be a healing song for Melody and for Ilhoon. You can see I got a bit teary eyed as well during the video and I didn't even know about Ilhoon. That's the power they have

I’m a lifelong Melody since Kingdom so I’ve inhaled BTOB content since then. I cried when I first watched this mv because I missed Ilhoon so much. I can never listen to the song without missing him so I often check his instagram to see if he’s posted anything new. I will always hope for at least a recent picture of all of them together, whether it’s in Korea or elsewhere, because they are brothers.

It's sad that he had to leave the group but thankfully, even though that hurt, it didn't tear the group apart. I wasn't around to know him while he was with the group but I still wish they could reunite for a performance in the future.

Us melody as soon we heard and read the lyrics we thought of ilhoon. (the member who left but will be always part of btob history ) the part missing piece and the members stand behind our maknae , make sure of that. Love u reaction.

@bruna_silva469 that would be amazing if they did. With kpop growing so fast here, they may never be as popular here as they are in SK but they could definitely get popular here with a bit of marketing, especially because they fill a ballad niche that almost no other notable groups are filling. There's EXO but they're the kings of R&B not necessarily ballads. I can't think of any group promoting here that does what BTOB does.

Wind and wish is the same word is Korean, "baram" so the title is a play in words. The line in the pre-chorus can be interpreted as either "when my wish passes you by" or "when my wind passes you by" the translator has chosen to use both meanings and interpret the word as "wind and wish" which is the english title for the song and EP

When i read the English translation of the song i instantly think of Ilhoon. For me too wind and wish is a phrase that tells about a positive thoughts to someone that is not physically there. They may be separated as performer but the connection and good intention is strong right there. With that being said i never think of this as a break-up for their brotherhood since I have a strong feeling they keep in touch with our Hoonie offcam. Ahh i wish i can say a lot here about what I've heard but i don't want my beats to get hate from random shallowminded kids.

That's what a few others have said. I knew they had a song that was basically for Ilhoon but I didn't know if this was the one since it's so new. I thought the one for Ilhoon was further back but I'm glad I got to experience this one with you guys! Hopefully, even if its just for one song one time, they can reunite in the future.

To add to this, Ilhoon’s fandom name is Hana (meaning one in Korean and flower 🌸 in Japanese). It originated from the “il” in his name. Thank you for the reaction! It really is a lovely song. And i would totally recommend the dance practice video, it's both impressive and funny. Also please watch their K-099 performance of wind and wish and Blooming Day. They did it with live band and it all comes together beautifully. And its amazing how effortless songs with pretty difficult vocals are to them at this point, after years of super hard work. Have a wonderful day!
