Thanks ma'am Flora for the updates. I was hired last July to start by August and was about to start my papers for the OEC kaso naospital ang father ko and my family needs my presence kaya di ako natuloy. It was easy to find an employer by that time kasi dipa open ang mga airports kaso ngayon naku ang hirap na. Most employers gusto nila nasa VN kana or ASAP ang pagpunta jan kaya most of the time iniisip ko mag tourist nalang kaya. But yah it's really risky.

When a job posting is hourly pay and says say 20 teaching hours a week on average are you only paid for those hours or the full 8-9 hours your actually there at the school?

It depends sa school po. Usually If they specify that its an hourly pay they will pay you according to the number of hours you are teaching. you can ask your employer directly po and make sure that it is stipulated on your contract.

This is false, honestly you should enter as a tourist and do your walking about and interviews than move to work. If you are finding work online not in VN you have a high risk of being F'd with and scammed under contracts Get an eVisa come out and check out, but of course do your research, I'd honestly say goto ILA, EMG, VUS and others apply do the interviews and spend those 30 days effectively

Hi Maureen! Yes. As a Filipino, there are so many risks kapag nag tourist tayo. I have been one before. Pero kng risktaker ka talaga and if you have plan b if ever things wont go your way, then go for it. however, i would suggest to look for a reputable company or school here, and process your papers legally. Yes. As long as you have a bachelors degree or master degree with a tesol and ielts from 7.0+ it should be fine and easy to get a job here.

@@jaygarden6381 it depends on whether you’re a native speaker or non native. Usually if you’re a native speaker , they’ll require you to have a tesol or tefl and a bachelors degree and some experiences (depends on which center). If you are a non-native English speaker, you may be asked to take IELTS or another proficiency exam. Having a CELTA rather than a generic TEFL certificate would also improve your chances of getting a job.
