It's so true. The shit I was making back when I was 18 was from another dimension. In my own experience, my thoughts and feelings at 18 are so volatile and emotional, it was like handling an atomic bomb. Now, here we are. Old but stable.

Way too relatable. Every time I look back at my teenage song ideas I'm just envious of the creativity and technical skill. One thing I do notice is that I am a lot cleaner nowadays, though. So it's a good trade-off.

I feel like that bass slide could sound even cooler beefed up with like some sort of synthy double or like atmosphere drop sample or something. Anyways, this is probably one of the coolest riffs you've worked on in this series.
@music_ethos Жыл бұрын
Hey man love the videos! This riff is super sick! I wrote one of the songs on my band Exscends new ep in drop c and its a sick tuning for sure! I''m also use logic and seeing you make songs in the program is super helpful. Could you make a video going over all of the short cuts and templates you use along with other general tips you've learned over the years? Even better, you could also just take a second to point out what you are doing in these video and put a little shortcut keyboard in the top right that highlights what your doing on the keyboard. Thanks man, keep it up and congrats on 10k!

Sounds like old Born Of Osiris :)
@skirmantasstankevicius458 Жыл бұрын
I know that feeling. That period when you just sit down and shred the guitar hour by hour, day by day, really makes u a better player and then that period ends, you switch to other stuff, for an example, composing and you forget the most of what you've actually learnt and achieved prior to that. Its crazy. Btw, when you record bass, it had such a nice crispy, yet punchy characteristic and I wonder why you put it so low in the mix? i mean, yeah, we can hear its punching the lows, but I lack a bit of high-mid character.
@SlimVans Жыл бұрын
Hey dude, what is the recording level on the meter for the shure sm 57? And what program do you record it with? Screenflow? I don't see shure in youre logic session. Thx! Great vids!

unrelated ask, what do you use after your sm57 to get it to the right level without noise? Im using a scarlett solo i got off ebay and its super noisy at any reasonable gain setting
@johnsilver4990 Жыл бұрын
it's because scarlett sucks, you need a sturdy pre amp
@arielhernandez5094 Жыл бұрын
Hey brother, idk if this will help. But I have used a sm57 (like many people before lol), however I have never had an issue with it being noisy. I use focusrite as well, i would maybe check to see if somehow your interface or cable could be causing some noise, if not try plugging everything into a power conditioner? Just a little suggestion, I’m not too experienced, but I hope this helps you find the solution!
