This is the most helpful and realistic video that I 've seen about compression socks. I love the idea of having one tool to put the socks on and to take them off. 😀😀

May God bless you, my friend! Your explanation helped me a lot. I can see a good professional in you. Now I can take my compression socks off!

Thank you for this, you have saved me from mail ordering a device which definitely won't work for me. I'm very grateful to you for helping me to not waste money on this version! The Steve or Simon versions seem to be the best suited to me personally, as I can't reach my ankles due to mobility issues. Thanks again for this very helpful video.

Why do all the adverts for compression stockings show young people putting them on and off instead of senior's with mobility issues manage on their own
@MarkJohnson-ou6xz24 күн бұрын
Because they want to sell product so they make it look easy.

What happens in situations where you have to take the socks off for tests? In a hospital or something. How do you get the socks back on

Because the material is so hard theres a possibility of tearing your skin.also i tried one and i have wider feet caused by Charlot Marie Toothe disease. It was impossible to fit my foot in the donner.

Yes, those are things to consider. The device comes in different sizes but it is based on calf size. I have seen that happen as well that the foot is actually wider than the calf. You can try a larger size but it will probably be more difficult to load as the garment would need to stretch out more. For someone with good grip strength that may work. Especially if using rubber gloves. This device does not work for everyone but it does work for some.

@Selfcaretherapy ty for answering .I did try the larger one but still have the problems .yes it's true most can have very good results with the device it looked very helpful but unfortunately I have a bad disease which causes many problems.also because of the charlot my ankles are fixed.i use the cloth 3finger Donner. My goal was too add a suggestion so maybe in the future these concerns can be looked at .I gave the Donner to the wound clinic to pass it on . A wonderful product and so refreshing we have technology to help .. Sue

Pardon my honesty, but I'd like to know why ALL of these sock donning videos use the LARGEST socks that they can find? I wear 20 - 30 mm Jobst knee highs. There's no way they are that wide to begin with. And if I had enough strength to place them on these contraptions, I wouldn't need the contraption. I would just pull them directly on my feet/legs.

I hear your frustration. It is true that it can be difficult to load. The compression garment in the video is a 30-40mmHg and that is what the majority of our patients use. It is important to get the right size for this device. Also, I recommend using grip gloves for loading. It usually works very well with 20-30mmHg. Sometimes and for some the 30-40mmHg can be too hard to load. For those that are able to reach the feet, I recommend the DoffN'Donner. www.selfcaretherapy.com/product/doff-n-donner-kit/ We have used it with 40-50mmHG, custom flat knits, and all compression levels, and sizes. However, using the Doff'NDonner without reaching the feet can be very challenging. It takes a lot of practice and patience to master. But we have seen it work with clients of all ages and with many physical challenges. Don't give up! I hope that helps.

You are donning a compression stocking not a compression sock. There is a difference (PT, CWS, CLT)

My legs are so swollen they won't even FIT in that silly plastic thingy. Even if I did get it on I don't have enough strength to pull that silly plastic out of the sock. Oh, and forget flexing the foot- let's say that if you're a normal person, this will work great!
@LEFTaTIP Жыл бұрын
Yes, you need a normal size calf. But unfortunately after hip replacement surgery my surgical leg & especially my calf was so swollen NO device really helps. Plus the pain of reaching and pulling and then getting your foot into the sock...??? Geez. torture

It's funny how someone adapts when they are not aware of how the device functions. First, I can reach my knees and that is it. I am, however, able to reach my ankle by putting my leg on a counter/bench and rotate my leg 90 degrees (looks like I am sitting high and crossing one leg up). Knowing my situation I do the following: To put on the socks, I used your technique except I stand. Works great. I can put the 2 socks in less than 1 min. For removing the sock, there is a little fin on the bottom. I slip that inside my sock, facing me, just below my knee. I push down the sock to my ankle. I move into my counter/sitting position, reach for the sock on the top of my ankle and pull. My method never needs to adjust the handles.
