I expected much better performance. How old was the blade? I've been trying to decide between this model (new) and the Jet 18". This video did not convince me to go with Laguna. I'll have to check some more videos of course.

how would that cut go with just std steel blade?

Not well...

I tell you what James, if the blade had an STD I would stay way clear, in fact, I would be extremely discriminatory against getting anywhere near that blade. I promise.

hey Michael; thanks for the video. I have the same bandsaw and I concur with you; you have to spend time with it to figure out the nuances. Lots of trial and error, but patience will get you there. Where do you get your blades from?

I got my original resaw blade from Laguna but typically get them from Eagle Tools in Glendale

Looking for 18” not sure Laguna or Jet

I haven't kept up on the latest stuff - Laguna is good stuff especially the European made machines - Jet also has good stuff... Eagle Tools in Glendale, CA is a place where I get parts I need for my INCA Tools joiner/planer, they only carry the best and carry both these companies machines

The blade isn’t supported on rear thrust bearing. I can hear it dumping in and out of the cut.

I would like to make a suggestion. Set your rear ceramic guide by putting a small amount of pressure on the front of the blade it touches both upper and lower equally. The blade will cut slower but leave a nicer surface.
