This is scary. I remember when my youngest brother was little he was acting funny acter we got home from a visit with my dad's family. Turned out, his aunt who was on antipsychotics had dropped her pills and when she found out he was acting weird she didn't want to say anything. She finally admitted it and they were able to give my brother the correct antidote. He's a healthy 30-year-old now, works at a good government job, and has a bachelor's degree in construction and a master's in business.

Digoxin is serious stuff and prescribed in micrograms. It is a very high maintenance medication and can be very toxic if prescribed improperly. Blood tests need to be taken frequently to monitor the levels in the patient's blood. Therefore I cannot imagine the amount that this poor little girl took. I cannot emphasise enough to anyone on long term medications to keep them out of reach of children.

Activated charcoal is disgusting. I remember it being so bitter. I was around that girl's age, maybe a little older, when I had wondered into my parent's room and swallowed half of my dad's stay awake pills. They were red and heart shaped. It's like the company was setting children up for mistaking it for candy for sure. I think after that my parents realized that pills must be out of reach at all times. Funny thing is, no one explained to me that it wasn't candy, so I thought I was being punished for eating their candy, and I never touched candy again for a long time lol

I just found out today that my son proposed to his gf yesterday. immediately, i thought about i may be a grandmother soon, although she is very focused on college, so that may have to wait. Anyway, my first thought was that my house is nowhere near baby-proofed! He said they are planning on next summer so i better get busy! My youngest is 16 and it's been a while since i had to baby proof anything. But i think i am still sometimes in the mindset of having small children and watching out for them so i don't think it will be that hard for me to get back into that mode.
