The Dogs Trust Christmas gift giving event was delightful. The memory tree is such a thoughtful was to remember dogs who have passed and it was very touching that you included Betty. Thank you Dr Scott for sharing the amazing work that the volunteers and staff do caring for and helping dogs find their forever homes.

We have a large collection of ashes…34 years worth. It’s sad but also comforting. We adopted a labradoodle for Christmas from the SPCA…she’s the runt and quite small compared to her sisters. Our elderly Bassett hurricane rescue is a bit horrified but it’s only been two days. Younger dogs are good for elderly dogs and help prolong their lives. Right now Boofy is completely unimpressed with little Peaches. Currently he’s next to me being protected from an 8 month old 1/3 his size! I hope all your dogs find wonderful homes.

I have had rescues my entire life but find that it is so much harder now to adopt from Rescue homes...It is no wonder that people are looking to adopt from abroad....I was turned down twice ? Live in the country,large garden,retired early,always rescued....Bonkers....Ended up going to Freads and "rescued" an adult dog from a family that couldn't care for her any longer so there are more ways of rehoming...😊

I live on narrow boat... My dog died in February. I would love to rescue, but so many animal charities won't give dogs to people who live on boats. 🥹. I've had dogs all my life. All, my fur babies. My peggy had the best life on board, but now, for some reason, I'm not seen as a good home for a dog. It's breaking my heart. I wish animal charities would open up and see the benefits of a life on the canals. They live their best life. All I want to do is give a home to a dog, but I'm not able to. So because of this I will have to go to a breeder, which feels wrong when all these dogs are desperate for loving homes.... Please animal charities, look more openly at the small percentage of people that live differently. We can sometimes offer that little bit extra.... We still love and care for our dogs. Just like we did when we lived in houses. We are the same people, we now just live a different way... 😢🐕

Our local shelter won't let us adopt because we don't have a fenced yard. We have 10 acres. The house is set into a hill so we can't fence around it. Our last dog which we got from the same shelter just died at 14. So we got a dog elsewhere.

I lived in a caravan they also said I can't get a dog or cat. Eventually went to a pet shop.
