I was amazed at how much they got the medical scene to look like BHS. The stupid numbers for each station, the stair master room, it's crazy. They must've had guys from the job as consultants.

And the only reason why im sure Gavin wasn't helping Lou with his exam was the fact that Gavin is a 20 year Senior FF. Which means everyone in the Rock would reckonigze him. So Lou would have been kicked out of the department, and Tommy would have also. As for the other guys, they woud still be on the job because no way Tommy or Lou would sell them out. Plus simply it was Gavin's day off.
