9:20 So let me get this right... Rhys is listening attentively throughout the entire explanation and even asking questions to make sure he understood everything correctly - and the dad gets frustrated with him , snaps at him, rolls his eyes at him, makes a snide comment about how Rhys is going to get timeouts often, and then sends him off to his bedroom for no discernible reason? Perhaps the dad is the one who needs disciplining.

I really want to sit simon down and explain to him how damaging his anger is, i had a dad just like him and it really messes a kid up walking on ice and feeling hated let alone the violence. It’s bothering me on episode 3 that little Elizabeth isn’t going to some type of sign language school. Hopefully she is & it just hasn’t been said yet. My bio dad was like Simon except drunk all the time. It’s an awful way for a child to live. When my mom remarried when I was 12 & my (step) dad was nice, kind, firm but understanding & loving I was so confused & rejected him out of fear, confusion. Ultimately we ended up having a wonderful relationship better than many biological fathers & daughters. He passed away a few months ago, & the best part of him was he was 22 yrs older than my mom & had already raised 3 kids...he didn’t have to devote a second of time into raising a bratty teenager, but he did. I’m so much better for him taking his time to be my father & my dad. 💗 I hope Simon learns to manage another way.

I used to work in a unit where parents and children under 5 came into for a residential stay due to sleeping, eating or behavioural issues. These parents are struggling to implement strategies that a mostly foreign to them and sadly are destined to fail many times before finally succeeding. As a therapist working with parents and children, I would break down the strategies into basic steps so parents could follow and have insight as to why their children behave as they do. For example, when putting to bed, return them to their bed three times explaining what you want them to do. After the third time, just take them back to bed, no eye contact, no discussion etc. remember you can outlast their desire to keep getting out of bed. They get the message.

Lessons in Parenting are needed by some. These children are classed as 'at risk' by social services, simply because the parents are having their personal issues, taking it out on the children. 1. Hitting is cyclic. Parent physically violent = children learn to hit back. 2. Shouting is cyclic. Parents shout at children a lot = Children learn to shout back. 3. Rewards for positive behaviour = behaviour is positive, rewards! 4. Keep calm and be consistent and fair. Best Wishes to you all!

Britain has an epidemic of rotted teeth in pre-schoolers, causing them to require surgical removal of all their baby teeth. Their gov’t. paid medical care doesn’t cover dental care/education. Simon "I Like Discipline And Order Cuz I Was In The Army" has got MAJOR Anger Issues, doesn't he?? Especially towards little Reese. I don't disagree AT ALL that these kids need to change drastically. They are horribly behaved, and these parents are feeding it. But Simon is abusive, both verbally, and I suspect physically, and she (wife) needs to seriously consider her other "options". And Jane and her hubby need to learn to tell Cameron "NO", because if they don't they're going to really regret his teen years.

I reckon the family would be better off without Simon too. This just proves that 2 parents are not always the best thing, but if the mothers were battling this on their own, people would say it's because they don't have a father figure at home...they're all bloody clueless!

Much better thankyou. I'm referring to the dad who keeps swearing non stop and his wife. They openly threaten to harm there children and the mother actually hits her son on camera.. How on earth do they expect there children to grow up if this is what they have to witness and listen to daily?? I'm a single mother of 2 very naughty children but A I do not swear to them and B I don't threaten to harm them and C i do not hit my children. They lead by example.. so before you comment check your facts Alina

not only do they need to learn discipline but they also need to learn how to have respect for their children and how to treat their children like human beings and maybe if they did that along with some discipline and structure their kids might respect them and act right

I know right. I've never seen children in Canada where I live scream, swear and physically attack their parents the way these children do. Ive raised 4 children and been around children all my life. I don't understand the anger and it seems to be contagious as well.

What behaviour seems to be a constant with the parents is their sitting on the couch, in a restaurant etc where children require attention or direction in activities. Lazy parenting when this time of their children's life will be over soon enough.

Simon was wrong to do what he did. It is fairly obvious he grew up in a very tough environment with his dad probably doing the same thing to him. But one thing I can say is he is willing to change and did this course.
