Gary Chapman sings the Fanny J Crosby song, "Rescue the Perishing" from the A Hymn a Week series which he and his wife, Cassie upload here and to Facebook each week. This wonderful song written in 1869 still resonates today.

What a fantastic song !!! The stories that you share about the history and writers of the songs adds so much more impact to the message in the words. These wonderful songs have such meaning because they are about real heartfelt struggles and victories in Jesus, not just some hypothetical pipe dream. I pray that God will continue to bless you and your family and ministry abundantly my brother in Christ.

I found out about this hymn from Corrie Ten Boom's book "Tramp for the Lord" in the sixth chapter: Music From Broken Chords. She hid Jews in Holland during WW2. Amazing musical interpretation of this gospel hymn, Gary.

Could you do, "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus"? It was written by Charles F. Weigle after his wife left him. Thanks for your encouraging songs. I have re-posted many to my Facebook friends.

I believe in soul sleep till the reserection at the 2nd coming of Jesus. Jesus will keep my soul till then. Then He will breath it back in me when I am raised from the dead. A new and perfected one. It wouldn't be fair to take Lazarus from heaven and bring him back to earth. God is soo good. Also Lazarus doesn't comment on heaven. He did it for the saducees who didn't believe in resurrection.
