Yes, I agree. But also, after this, they were probably more inclined to structure the tasks with a time limit or some element that created a natural limit. Plus they area all going for the goal of making an interesting show, so just giving up is the worst ending.

Richard Osman actually talked about this one on the podcast. He has very bad eyesight, so this one was just very difficult for him. To put in context - he has trouble reading the autocue on shows he hosts, so imagine how difficult it would have been for him to see Patatas in the tree.

I just have to say, as an American who discovered the wonders of this show just a few days ago as a result of this channel, I am so happy to have stumbled down this rabbit hole. Watching clips from this show have been absolutely fantastic, and I desperately wish I was able to watch it on TV here in the states. But for now, I’m more than happy to keep binging the challenges here on KZbin.

i definitely would have at least called, making sure to be clear it's not very urgent. Taskmaster is a well liked show I'm pretty sure the firefighters would be in good humor about it, and the task said "best" rescue, not fastest, and that's what I'd do for a real cat.

Not always true. One of my cats had gotten stuck in a tree in our backyard for (first time this has ever happened with one of my cats) about 4 days. She kept trying to get down and was constantly meowing but couldn’t figure out a way to do it. It constantly rained for most of the time she was up there. I had to call multiple companies and eventually one led me to a group of arborists that were willing to help me. I hired them for $400. Jackson hasn’t gone up a tree since. They told me about how they’ve and others they know have seen cat skeletons in trees before. There are some cats that never make it back down and they die up there.

They really missed an opportunity to have Richards cat placed 6ft up in the tree and just edit in him grabbing a cat out of the tree at eye level. One of my all time favorite moments in this show was having one contestant count numerous items and receive 0 points for the fake tasks. The show should include some asymmetry with the task where some contestants just receive easier versions of the same task.
