IMO The foundation of any Employer/Supervisor/Manager, Employee relations0hip is respect, aka, the knife that cuts both ways. A good boss doesn't ask an employee to do a task that they themselves wouldn't do. Equally important is the rule of "Praise in public, Criticizein in private. There have to be clear and obvious lines of demarcation between a Employer/Employee in order for the this to work.

I owned a 1957 100-6 Austin Healy in 1973. It was my 11 grade Sumer project. I had it sandblasted and cleaned up rust. New rocker panels and paint . It had the six with dual carbs and 4 speed with electric overdrive. It had splined wire wheels which I sandblasted and repainted them. Very fun car to drive and sold in winter of 1973 for $1,200 .👍😀

I have been following this channel for over a year now and Dennis is really that great of a guy. Human of course, but a heart of gold it appears. (FYI- Many cars in the last 20 years come standard with remote windows on the factory key fob. I have had many Honda Accords , Nissan Rogue, Jaguar S Type but many are not aware. Just hold down the windows button and even the sunroof will open. Hold the up window button and all windows and roof will close. They just don't really advertise it on most cars.)

Back in the day even up to the 90s English and Japanese sometimes Italian car companies used to build these one of one car's only for shows like Earls court, some would end up in private hand's some would stay with in the company's own collection and other got crushed afterwards. My friend owned a one of one Toyota supra mk3 it had a total different dash and full adaptive airo body kit one off wheels. He got ran into from behind the insurance took over three year's to pay out because their was no money value on the car as no other one like it existed. It's amazing what car companies used to do just to show what they could do all for a show.

Goldie is a true one of one car and has a real no money value if you understand what I mean. There's collectors out there who are willing to pay any some of money for it, a collector in London offered Dennis three million dollars for it and Dennis declined the offer, I know of other private collectors who have offered him money when Dennis was in England and Dennis refused them all. I can definitely say Dennis love for this car out way's any money value put on it, the car has been valued why it's been in Dennis hand's and he never revealed it. What is it worth nothing because Dennis will never sell it. A car guy who truly love's car's

The hard part about getting the trailer out is trying not to wreck the gentleman's yard. They could get it out with a small Cat or maybe even a large rubber tracked Kaboda or something but they would just rip that field to shreds every time they turned a bit.

What a treat. A fellow Healey guy! I had the pleasure back in the late '60s to own a brace of them, a BN-6 and a BN-7. The 7 had a driver's side roll bar and triple SUs which in true tradition were a beeyotch to tune but when done right, she moved right quick. She had obviously been raced but I got no provenance with it, just cash on the barrel head. BR Green and tan seats, of course. The ivory Healey is...interesting. They wanted to build an eye-catcher and it worked. Mr. Doherty's V-8 MG with all the trimmings is just a mind-bender and probably unique. Congratulations to him for a beautiful piece of work/art. Fun fact: 1958 Oldsmobile station wagon wheels will bolt right on and they fit best if they are installed reversed. Of course I did it and man did it take the chatter out of the rear end! The much increased track made all the difference in the world. Much more stable in the corners, especially on rough dirt roads. 500+ Healeys! I stand in awe, Dennis. Cheers from Ottawa, ON. P.S.: Subscribed on the spot, white bell and all thumbs up henceforth. Dennis is a class act.

My grandfather had a 3000 with front disk brakes, a 4 speed with electric overdrive, 2 seats (just a carpeted shelf in the back) and 3 single barrel side draft carbs. He did semi restore on British cars and this one was in his backyard for a very long time. Every time I visited, I would go out and look at it and dream about fixing it up. He did all the mechanical work on the car and the body work, then ran an ad in the paper to sell it. The new owner was able to pick the materials for the inside and the paint color. She ended up with Tobacco leather and candy apple red paint. The car was beautiful when it was done. Total price was $14,000 it was sold to her about 1997 in the SF bay area.

Dennis, back in the early 60’s, I had a MGA, and just loved it. A friend ordered an Austin Healy 3000, and I was with. Him when he took delivery, Dennis, it was absolutely gorgeous. But I still liked my MGA.

Love the episode - like all of your work! Having grown up in Southern Idaho farm country, I know what it is like to get vehicles stuck up to the axles - this includes pickups, flat bed farm truck, International Harvester hay swather, Farmall tractor... The only thing I didn't manage to get stuck was my friend's old Caterpillar D4.

Dennis is such a great man. Definitely someone to look up too. I know nothing about Goldie but it's a beautiful car. Thanks for sharing it with us.

What a great guy you are Dennis, watched you plenty times with Richard Rawlings and always enjoyed your input humour and fun with him. Your own show is rad, I like the same cars and stuff you do. Cheers. Heavies are awesome.

The way in which that judge in Dubai touched, leaned on, rested his sunglasses on… and visibly wiped his sweaty hands on Goldie would have driven me nuts!! Kudos to DC for staying cool in the heat!
