Thank U World Horse Welfare. So many horses are ending up in the wrong place & in the wrong hands. Tougher laws need to be in place. It should never have taken so long to remove the herd from that awful field. Live horses still being transported overseas from UK for slaughter. It has to stop!

I'm crying happy tears, too, ladies. Can't adequately express my gratitude. 💓 Mother Earth will not be providing homes for animal abusers (neglect IS abuse) into the future.

WHEN WILL LAWS FOR ANIMAL WELFARE BE CHANGED? Thank God for World Horse Welfare and all the locals / people involved If the people that owned the land/horses didn't want these poor animals, why didn't they give them to others who did? Horses are beautiful, noble beings and they deserve so much more! It breaks my heart to think of the suffering they have endured Thank you all who rescued, for righting the wrongs done to these animals THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS APPALLING AND UNNECESSARY!
@Wisepati2 ай бұрын
Wow, that must have been so frustrating. 70 owners? So sad it had taken so long and where are these owners? Why didn't they step forward? Surely they knew each other. Just the lack of vet care should have been enough to take action. Laws need to change. All those people in the co-op should be charged with abuse.
@juliaforsyth83322 ай бұрын
I think it was said that they had bought the land, not that the horses were theirs. By law it's the horse owners responsibility not the land owner for the horses well being. And the owners couldn't be found.
@lisajayne71167Ай бұрын
This is why it's a good thing they brought in chipping laws. So because they aren't chipped they have more of a say in taking them

These poor babies! I'm so glad that you all from World Horse Welfare took these beautiful animals in! This land was so hazardous for these horses. It's too bad that you had to go through bullshi*t in order to get the evidence you needed. Obviously OTHER people were caring for these horses, which I would have done if I were there myself. They deserve that. If horses have some fight to live, then they deserve every chance to have a better life. Thank you World Horse Welfare for what you do for the beautiful animals!!!

What a lovely story. Well done ladies keeping your eyes on, and caring, for these abandoned horses. Absolutely disgraceful that `others' have allowed these animals to end up in such horrendous circumstances. But at least the story ended well. Well done!

Shameful that the 70 odd owners of the land can create such problems for the rescue and will presumably get away with it. Years of neglect and despite all the dead horses over the years, the law is inadequate for these wilfully cruel and neglectful owners.

We have also been pushing for several years in Canada to stop the shipment of our warm bloods live to Japan for food they are not complying with the time that these horses in their small cages can be left without food or water
@lisajayne71167Ай бұрын

Thank you for all your efforts we have been trying in Canada to stop the horse slaughter industry where the price of horse meat is posted at the auctions and there you have to actually bid against the meat man and to make things more complicated they cannot slaughter them in the United States so should they ship hundreds of thousands to Canada to be shipped and slaughtered. Sometimes there's up to 3,000 waiting for slaughter the meat yard.

If only people would have this much compassion about humans in dire need.
@arohalily11492 ай бұрын
It's not one or the other. People who have love and compassion for animals also have love and compassion for people. On the flipside, people who are abusive toward animals are often also abusive towards other people. Instead of witnessing such a wonderful rescue and wishing it were something else, perhaps try wishing that abusers of both people and animals would stop what they're doing and contribute something positive to the world. Your apparent belief that this is a zero-sum game where a gain for animals is a loss for people is irrational.
@Wisepati2 ай бұрын
Wow. You see the suffering of these poor horses and you denigrate the people who care for them. There are way more charities for humans in dire need. And humans have a voice. There are tons of charities for humans.. why are you even here?

Appalling owners land is owned so realistically they know who owns them and they should be forced to pay for the lifelong care of 70 owners who bought the land it’s shameful our country doesn’t care enough to enforce the welfare of all animals it’s a disgrace from authorities and the law or lack of law for animal welfare
