Happy birthday to the boys! We've the same problem here with chimps. Since the govt banned testing on them, sanctuaries are full. Then, a few years ago, Wildlife Waystation, which had been a place for animals previously used in entertainment, had to close down. Most of their animals were placed, but there were 36 chimps with nowhere to go. They set up a fund, distributed it to the sanctuaries for expansion, there was some shuffling of roommates, I expect, and CA Fish and Wildlife did their best to hold on while they found places for them in the sanctuaries and zoos. However, now sanctuaries are full, and the petting zoos continue to churn them out. The petting zoo chimps will have nowhere to go. I noticed that TikTok banned videos from a certain "Safari Sammi", who's got big cats, following pressure from the public. However, they're still using one of her videos in their ads. And we're all waiting to see what happens with Myrtle Beach if the "doc" finally makes it to court this summer (unless he manages to postpone it again)

I live in the mtns. of Idaho & awoke around 3:30 a.m. this morning to the sound of a cougar outside of my bedroom. The snow is melting & the creeks & rivers are flowing over their banks. The deer are feeding on the fresh grass on my property & I saw a herd of around 100 elk along the river across from our Post Office yesterday. They should be calving this month. A good time for the predators. Like George & Yamie, my Lab races around the property finding deer & elk poop to roll in. I feel lucky to live in an area where cougars & bears still roam.

You indeed are very fortunate. I live close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and we too have an abundance of wildlife. We don’t have Grizzlies but we do have Black Bears. We also have elk, deer, otters, wild boar, the list goes on. I do wish we had gray wolves. North Carolina has Red Wolves, and I’m hoping some can be introduced here. We need predators to keep our ecosystem in balance. Have a blessed weekend my friend. Love from Tennessee.

@@snowkracker Oh, that’s terrible. I’m so sorry. I visited St. Petersburg many years ago. It was beautiful and the beach was gorgeous. I live in Knoxville and we have our share of crime, but it’s only in certain areas of the city. Where I live it’s fairly peaceful. We did have a black bear come through downtown not too long ago. Guess he was heading back to the Smokies.

@@Debra.Justice The most beautiful black bear I ever saw was cinnamon colored! Besides cougars & black bears, we do have wolves, coyotes, & wolverines where I live. Grizzlies can be found in the northern part of the state.

@@duanelavely5481 We also have coyotes. I even saw a beautiful fox outside my apartment at my bird feeder. I love wolverines and wolves are my favorite animal. Are there any moose where you live? I was in the Smokies last week and saw a car from Idaho. That’s a long way to travel. I’d love to go to Churchill and see polar bears. They are gorgeous animals. I’ve never seen a cinnamon bear, just the black ones. I saw 2 kids chasing one of our bears through a picnic area. Where on earth were the parents? We have a lot of stupid tourists. Much like the idiots in Yellowstone that try to get close to bison. I think humans have to be the dumbest animals on the planet.

Its sad world where top predators feel threatened first by 2 legged predator who threat and made mess of the very food chain order we ourselves share with every creature to survive. But lions conflict always end up with dead lion bodies when human is the one to mess up their habitat/ignoring their natural instinct and more over big predators dominate most cycle food chain we also share. But im sure lions will not care that much to keep their action in order for human whom btw drive them to edge. I guess the worst natural instinct that is killing each and all the way with no remorse will be the deserved warning to bring out our the best in our humanity..

The future of lions born and bred on breeding farms is a real dilemma. I think the opinion of veterinarians is really to be taken into account. This industry of cruelty must go. Seeing those two enjoying their b-day and being all happy and well warms my heart. I feels like we are in a time of change, that as You said it - is not going to be nice one, but very much needed. We - as humans let the situation to grow to those proportions and it has to stp, one way or another. The only thing that brings a little hope is the fact, that people seem to be finally understanding that canned hunting is not the way, and hopefully we can avoid all that in the future. Again, big, big thank you to Kevin and everyone on the team for doing such an amazing job at keeping the best possible level of beind stewards to those animals that are in your care. Thinking to the future, I know I will personally miss seeing the videos of what I now consider familiar mugs of lions and other animals, but I know I will be as eager to support your endeavours in making the sanctuary a home for individuals that need rehabilitation and are ready for re-wilding. Happiest birthday sweet handsome George and Yame, I love you boys so much, so happy and full of gratitude you got to come and be under Kevin’s care, even though I know your story , it still hurts me whenever it’s brought up, but I am so grateful and appreciate that Kevin takes every opportunity to raise awareness about such shameful inhuman worse behaviors, I pray that these lion cub petting facilities and canned hunting get banned with the utmost strictness and severe consequences, along with any other inhuman opportunist unethical trade or action or facilities or individuals, and I pray people realize their part and responsibilities by boycotting such facilities and activities, it’s beyond me how anyone can look at killing as sport or fun !!! I pray and hope from the bottom of my heart that a good solution would rescue these innocent animals, I hope also that something would change and Kevin would be able to help however many he can of them, God bless you Kevin for all that you do for this noble cause, it’s an honor and privilege to support you, and thank you for sharing those majestic beautiful animals with us and educating us along the way, you made such an impact and a change with the way we know and see lions .

I've been a member with you guys for over 17 years, Remember when Kevin introduced his baby to the lions with his wife she drove the ute with the capsule in the front seat. My membership say's only 8 years maybe because on account missed paying you a couple of times I am up to date now though. You're so humble. You walk with lions, mate, how many people can say lions want to walk with them.
