I have a 16 Sundance, now I know what the bottom looks like lol.

At least you got the beach cleaned up. The boat is trashed.
@wjbarricklowАй бұрын
You could throw a tiller motor on it and be back out there tomorrow.
@PamudderАй бұрын
As often as not the main object in salvage is getting a derelict back to a marine facility where it can be properly disposed of instead of breaking apart and dumping more fuel, lubricants, plastic or other pollutants into the ocean.

Clever use of a paddle board.

I saw it out there Sunday, just south of the inlet. Virginia numbers so I thought somebody had lost a tender. Looks like someone has a nice little flats boat. Is the owner going to put it back together and get it back out on the water?

A lot of trouble for such a little boat.

If I find and am able to pull it off the beach could I keep it? Finders keepers salvage rule?

I might have tried to Harbuckle it on the beach and flat tow it,not destroy it dragging it like a pilchard rig.

I'm in Port Salerno and found your channel after Milton...love it. Thanks for the infotainment! Where was this one? Saw you brought it into Sandsprit.

Do you ever get idiots trying to cross your tow lines
@CaptainRetrieverАй бұрын
@@shrory i have seen it, not very often, never hit but have come close. We had a drunk guy try to swim between a tow before too.

Why do you use a wide angle camera lens?
@CaptainRetrieverАй бұрын
@@wpbjim that’s just your standard 4k action camera lens. it’s hard to film with my Zoom camera because it has to be stabilized, and operated.

Salvage rule is you do all the work plus post you salvaged it. if they dont respond or give it to you after 90 days its yours.

We claimed one like that, a 24’ Carolina skiff that was floating in the ocean with all the numbers scratched off.
@scottmaz4063Ай бұрын
Why didn't he just flip it over?
@captpepinАй бұрын
There was sand in the front compartment on the starboard side that’s why it kept diving down on that side.

@@scottmaz4063 trying to show the struggle of beach jobs, and how heavy sand is. The boat would not stay righted on its own until the sand was removed..

@CaptainRetriever ok thank you for the explanation Capt.
@LordLauderdaleАй бұрын
Why not flip it over and clean out whilst on the beach.
@CaptainRetrieverАй бұрын
@@LordLauderdale they paid us for wreck removal to prevent fines & disposal.. Beach jobs done meticulously get expensive, you can spend hours shoveling sand & bringing pumps to wash the sand out.

Must of got sucked out the inlet. No way someone would be that stupid to go to sea as rough as it has been in that boat. That boat isn’t safe in a lake.
