Orktober is over but now it's NOB-vember and then Dakka-cember
@jordankeiken Жыл бұрын
YO!!! You bought my model lol. As the original owner of the GorkaKnight, I can honestly say this was a huge improvement on the model. I was disappointed I was never able to give it the time it needed, but I'm glad to see it all finished up. It looks great! Still could use a chest cannon though ;D

Duuude! That's so awesome, this almost never happens :) Literally, only in Orktober, and just last year was the first time, so welcome to the club! I am so happy to have worked on this model. I really liked the idea you had going with that cockpit on top, super unique and different for a chaos knight! Yeah the cannon not coming back was a bummer, but I still have it and I know it will make its way onto another model in the future. Can't throw away a perfectly good canon like that! I'm glad you are happy with how the model ended up, I know the feeling of not being able to finish something and moving on. Gotta get to the rest of those projects at some point too. Still, it looked like it was at least playable, so I hope you got in a game or two with him before you shipped him off. If you have time I would love to know about the model a bit more, things I would have asked if I had actually bought this model from you originally, If not no big deal :) So did you just have these kits around and want to do this conversion or was this a planned out sort of thing? Like you went out and bought the space marine kit and the knight kit? What did you use to make the texture on the pavement? Other than the pigment powder I literally didn't change anything with it. It was perfect!
@nastybadger Жыл бұрын
Frigging awesome job mate, looks so good. I caught your comment on the guy who owned it before and it's so cool you guys are in contact now. Another amazing project with a story to tell. The gretchin on top is a perfect finish touch and I love the guy holding on to the fist arm. Keep them sweet videos coming.
@jordankeiken Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I initially bought the Chaos Knight kit to make a Gorkaknight conversion, with the intention of making a mecha Godzilla theme with a city scene below. Obviously it never happened. There were two major factors that stopped the project. I never could find good pieces for a tail, and I at the time I was trying to learn how to airbrush and was struggling to get my airbrush to work. For the base it was just some corkboard and paint for the road. The broken pipe is actually just a broken pen with GSW uv resin coming out of it. Again, glad to see it got some appreciation and the attention it deserved. The model looks great!

Much appreciated man thanks! It's always nice to hear that history and know what was going at the time, it really brings perspective to the whole thing. I dig the idea for sure, maybe one day you will get around to trying it again :)

@@eBayMiniatureRescues you are very much welcomed, Casey! Not many will read my comment, but if you use this method the next time you show masking, people will get it instantly. You don't even need to cover the whole surface (although you can of course), as long of you put down 2 strips at once and then remove the second to last one you are good. Hope that makes sense.

I really like how this ended up looking! It is like a vague mixture of dieselpunk and steampunk, which would not look out of place in the game Warmachine. Looking at those Grots crawling over the Knight, I've myself thought about converting an army of steampunk-goblins, that could be used either for a fantasy game, or as the Red Gobbo's Revolushun.

Im sorry but thats a complete lie on the into the am shirts not shrinking... i have worn almost specifically into for almost 2 years at this point, im 6'3 around 220 and they just fit my build better than any other tshirt ive ever owned... but the few that i got in my first few batches are like a whole size maybe 2 smaller... great clothes i have sweat pants hoodies shorts and shirt, mainly wear plain tees with just the logo everyday to this day, great brand but they 100% shrink. 60% cotton will shrink overtime which they are. But thanks to people like you and other mini painters i have gotten a lot of good deals on them too. GREAT brand but mine have absolutely shrunk. Also AMAZING work on the model, i was a little upset that you did it in two parts cause thats not so normal for your channel but it turned out amazing. I have really enjoyed watching your channel grow over the last few years, your painting has come such a long way too! I love the concept of the channel and have since i found your videos
@eBayMiniatureRescues Жыл бұрын
2 parts was a hard decision to make for sure, I would just rather get it all done in one go and have a nice buttoned up video, but sometimes it has to be done! I was happy for the extra time on this one too, it made it much easier to concentrate and make something nicer than normal :) I wonder if I wash the shirts multiple times if they will shrink? So far I haven't had any issues, and that's always been my gauge for a good shirt. I have tons of expensive band tees that shrank beyond wearability the first time I washed them. The Into the AM shirts have tightened up, as clothes do after a wash, but not shortened up. Like the shirt didn't become a crop top all of the sudden lol. That's been my personal experience so far at least. Although this makes me question that a bit. I wonder if I just got lucky or something with that last wash, idono. In a month or so I will do an update below my pinned comment if something happens to them or they go bad quickly or something. That's really all I can do from here.
@Dummythxc Жыл бұрын
@@eBayMiniatureRescues yeah I think I agree. The 2 parter was maybe needed here and wow did it turn out amazing. What a way to end orktober ! well I wear 2xl and the shirts are, imo a little big brand new. So my shirts that shrank are still wearable and I do still wear them. These shirts are longer in length so for me the worst spot is the arms. My biceps are a bit bigger they just hug me tighter than a new shirt. But also my first round of tees were blank tees with no logo, so I can spot them out without even putting them on. I doubt I’ll stop wearing the clothes anytime soon tbh, even the comfy shorts are amazing for either lounging or wearing out I do both and I have the athletic pairs as well. Both are great. I just have noticed shrinking fs.
