I also had a rather traumatizing experience one day when I went with my brother (same guy with 3 cats, one of which the vet wants sedative given before his vet appointment- also is the cat that has bitten me) back to story. Went with brother to see an underground lake, lake is in a cave back home. A group of us went really neat to see but the ceiling was moving…. The whole area of the ceiling I could see was moving and chirping BATS. Now I don’t mind bats a bat or two in bat boxes who come out at night to eat the huge mosquitoes we have but this many bats , I got out of there some quick. The rest of my Rocky story is sad. I tried so hard to fight for Rocky with the various local wildlife agencies in my area and in the next province. Rabies has been a huge problem in the Canadian Maritimes and going all down New England sea coast. Rocky didn’t look sick, he was the biggest raccoon I have ever seen however, I had to call animal control and the fellow who came was pissed if at us, sorry you were on call whoever you were you were the guy on call and this was a neighborhood with many small children as well as pets.

I always thought that there were only Crocodiles in Australia an that ‘Gators 🐊 were their North American cousins. I do know the physical similarities and some of the differences. One more pointy nosed bed gator has more squared nose. Atlantic Canada 🇨🇦 wants to know. Love watching the channel and this fellow, forgive me I have brain fog reminds me of Steve Irwin. The same enthusiasm the same way of teaching us about reptiles (and I am terrified of reptiles, don’t mind salamanders but snakes even a garter or grass snake).. My personal wildlife story involves Rocky, a raccoon who was stuck in the window well, the window was my basement bedroom window (visiting with my brother who has 3 cats and I have a cat allergy). I thought there was a cat in the wall or some rodent or a ghost. Hey it happened 3 nights in a row.

I’ve learned a mnemonic to tell which ones are stalactites and which ones are stalagmites. As: Stalagmites, *might* grow up to the ceiling. And stalactites, well, adults will be able to fill in the rest of the mnemonic. I won’t put it here in case kids watch and read this 😉
