@gnrtradepro6 жыл бұрын
E Vers Thats not how it works. The game will have a set limit to ram usage, it will not cache the entire game. He could creat a ramdisk and run the whole game from there, but thats beside the point. Issues with both windows and the poor performance from sims 2 indicate poor page file function and read/write problems with the hdd.

That cpu isn’t bad should not have caused stuttering. However 1 gb vram isn’t very good When a game goes past that it uses system ram to page textures and the ddr3 1333 mhz is not going to perform as well as the stuff he has in the Ryzen. I know he thonks highly of that gpu but i bet replace it with a 2gb gtx 1050 and those stutters go away. I kinda doubt the Bottleneck is the CPU, maybe it's the HDD (looked like a 2,5"?) or the Ram not running in dual channel (keep in mind the GPU might have to use RAM as it has only 1GB Vram). A i5 3330 should be bottlenecked by a 7770 in most cases.

For example the gtx 700 series (750ti, 780, 960...) and up won't work. But if they come with an ivy bridge CPU (third generation) they should run fine with almost every GPU. Mainly they have to have a newer bios version but you can't update OEM's Mainboards that great.

I was shocked on the ram and the actual cpu installed. For those who do not know. the sims 2 only uses a single cpu core! Although with that cpu, even being the lowest one of that lineup should still rock the sims 2. What I think the issue is, is that I believe the sims 2 also loves accessing the hdd, so maybe an hdd would speed it up.

just a little tip on siege terrorist hunt is more demanding so your fps would probably be higher in multiplayer

What did your sister think of the upgrade?

Stumbling over your words a bit and getting some things said wrong is not the norm for you but just noticed it in this video. I am glad that the "internal video card" worked out well to make your sister's pc more acceptable to game on. Also the i5 cpus (Sandy Bridge) still working for me and others today for sure. A great cpu and so thankful I bought it back then.

SSD most important, for daily use of course. That gpu wasn't enough, an i5 can feed something better. The minimum should have been something closer to an r7 260x

I had this system I used a few years ago. The only exception was that I had the Gigabyte version of the 7770.

What was that thing Intel had with the Ivybridge cpus? It would link the igpu and gpu together? I tried Google but couldn't get results. It was the few things alongside the ssd cache that made me pick a i5 3570k upon release. Also what's happened to the bundle deals? I remember getting a cpu, mobo and ram from aria for around £300 this was very shortly after ivy release. It was good ram corsair vengence @1600 or 1866 and a good gigabyte mobo.

I have that cpu paired with 16gb ram and a 1070 ti. Still pretty fast. Most triple A titles still go up past 60fps
