Their roadmap gives me a good bit of confidence. I won't lie even with their previous games being handled pretty well the current landscape of gaming had me super pessimistic that this game would reach a good state, but if the INITIAL roadmap isn't predicting a full release until 2026 that says to me that they actually intend to take their time and do a good job rather than pump it out ASAP like so many other titles that claim a year or less from early access to full release. Obviously only time will tell, but I am definitely significantly more hopeful now

I wish Stormworks gave modders more tools to allow them to make missions. Stormworks could be so much better if they focused on optimizing the game, improving the physics a bit, and then just let the modders go crazy on making ships + new missions. Even better if people could also have custom modded maps. Because I know the devs have said they aren't changing the map anymore. Feels like Stormworks has so much potential, but every area of the game is just missing some polish to make it a game a wider audience would enjoy. I'll probably wait a year or more and then give this game a try when it's a bit more polished because it is already looking really great! This is another game that could really do well with a great modding system.

A "gill net" is an open weave net that when set, it hangs like a wall in the water. It depends on the fish not seeing the net and swimming into it. The fish's head passes through the open weave net but then it can't get completely through past it's dorsal or pectoral fins. If it tries to back out it's gills get caught in the weave. Younger, smaller fish can usually escape a commercial gill net. A gill net tends to catch fish out of schools of migrating fish, rather than lone fish that stick to a given area. You usually set and leave it for a day, but no more than 24 hours, because the fish will die once their gills get fowled in the net. Some large fishing companies will use a helicopter to spot a migrating school of fish and direct the boat where to set the net. In a case like that the net can be retrieved as soon as the school drives into the net.

Net fishing is only in game in technical terms. It's not really there. When you drop fish into the box, halibut are simply too large and drop over the side of the box. You can still see them flopping around on the floor, but they don't exist in any inventory, as they never go into the box. With that in effect, net fishing makes about 1/10th the cash that long line fishing does. It's early access, but it's still hugely broke as of now.

For the fish farms if you'll actually read the comments. All you have to do is figure out how much food it takes put all the food in at once then you literally just sleep till there ready. Easy af

As a console player I’m just really frustrated that I have to wait so long to play this game. MISC Games has done this with both of the previous games, but I must say I have enjoyed playing them. I just don’t understand why they can’t get the game ready for everyone to play

This might be the STUPIDEST comment I've received in the 11 years I've been making daily videos. Not shocking it comes from a guy that gets his there, they're and their confused but REALLY think about what you just said. IF a company didn't care they would rush a product out like the millions of studio's that do, there are very few dev teams still focusing on 1 project for years and doing it right. They clearly care about this product and it takes years to develop a game of this calibre in unreal engine. If you're comparing it to a shitty unity asset flip then of course it takes longer but this game feels AAA with a team of 10 fucking making it, grow up.
