Enjoyed this a lot. My late wife had an old Stella she used to play, back in the 60s; wish I still had it just for the sentimental value. Thanks for the memories.

I have a 63 Stella harmony... used to ride it like a stick horse as a kid! 40yrs ago.... I built new bridge for it out of cherry, as all the originals broke out the screw hole. Added new bone nut and saddle, a whole bunch of work to the fret board!! To get the string height and intonation perfect, and its absolutely my favorite!

Man this is awesome. 16 year old here looking to learn how to play the guitar. I had some money saved up but kept stalling because guitars are so damn expensive. Then I was in an antique shop around here and they had one of these things for $80, went back to buy it the next day. Honestly I was half expecting it to sound terrible but it actually sounds pretty good. Super fun to play, can't wait for the day I actually know what I'm doing lol.

The machine heads are built as a left and right unit to protect the head from cracking out the single tuners will likely crack the wood.

My Stella has the same stain color , or is it paint ? Probably not quite as old as it has the star above the name stella ...And now maybe instead of a wall hanger I am thinking about doing a rebuild , thank you for sharing !

This is the guitar I learned to play on. My dad brought it home in 1967 and my mom bought a Mel Bay chord book. Between that and my friends showing me some stuff I learned to play, I gave the guitar away to a friends little brother. I still play today . GOD BLESS YOU! GOD BLESS AMERICA!! GLORY BE TO GOD!!! IN JESUS NAME WE PRAY!!!!!!!

Had one in the sixties. Wish I still had it. Many wonderful old guitars out there. They're gold, I tell ya. None of this rock-n-roll with the tight pants and the long hair. Why I oughta...

!!! Greetings from Montréal, Québec, Canada !!! Really enjoyed the video and loved the sound of the guitar, so Bluesy from the 20-30's....I often say that it is not the price of the guitar that counts if not its sound and what pleasure you get out of it !!! Cheers !!!

Shane, my wife's friend had a similar guitar sitting in the garage for years. She gifted it to me. It's called a, Kay Guitar. I changed the tuning pegs, cleaned it up a bunch and installed piezoelectric pickups in it. It's a nice guitar to jam on but it's not of the highest quality.

That sounds sweet. Can't understand why new instruments do not have the sound of the olds. Why change a good thing?
