Rescuing Two Mack B Series Trucks with Bucyrus Erie H-5 Hydrocranes Episode 3

These two Mack crane trucks had been parked for awhile so it was a challenge getting them running and moved after buying them, cold weather, snow, and a short window of time was an added level of challenge but it was a fun and rewarding adventure. 1965 Mack B61 and 1965 Mack B83SX, both with Bucyrus Erie H-5 Hydrocranes. I share some of the information I received from the Mack Trucks Historical Museum and some of the original build sheets for both trucks in the first video.

That one tire held air but was a rough ride. That flap would open up and drive into the road. What an adventure.

It was definitely a fun adventure. I wasn’t sure if those tires would make the trip or not. Glad they did!

It’s actually a small workshop, kinda setup for some solar heating though.

Yes, I like the old equipment personally, seems like a lot of new equipment is unreliable due to emissions equipment and too many electronics.

@@Pioneer_Classic_Trucks very much agreed. Even though I am quite young compared to you (born in 2001), I absolutely hate the new stuff and I flat out refuse ti drive anything newer than the year 2000 because of that exact issue. My mom has a relatively new jeep and it is already beginning to catastrophically fail. It is so bad I am surprised she hadn’t had a wreck yet!

I’ve had experience with new trucks and equipment and really old stuff too, old is always more reliable if it’s maintained.
