Hello, one Q: As for the example of cancer treatment (6:15), my question is as to whether this is deductive or inductive when the researcher is going to categorize the findings in three pre-set alternatives, i.e., negative, positive, or N/A? I am conducting a similar method in my study in which the results (of content analysis) will be utilized to be sorted and categorized into three pre-conceptualized alternatives, though, it is in the strand of social sciences. It would be appreciated if you could answer this question of mine.

​@@peakdavid Thanks indeed for your response. I would like to take the liberty to ask this in another way. I am struggling with this issue very much. This is the Q more elaborated: Even if I am going to apply an already-developed descriptive model, it is still an inductive method? For instance, in the language of your example. I carry out both qualitative and quantitative examinations. First measuring blood type, pressure, weight, etc. And if the value/score of all factors is less than number X, then, the model developed by others suggests that this patient is getting cured. If the score is between X and Y, more time is needed for the treatment process, and if more than Y, the patient's health condition is severe and more and acute medical action should be carried out. This lens/model has been provided by other scholars. So why does this examination of mine while using another scholar's model make my study an inductive one? For years this model/lens has been used by many researchers. What new theory I am generating here? I am just utilizing a model in which the outputs are three categorizations and I just do an assessment, generate scores input the scores in a ready device/lens, and receive the answers/alternatives. I don't get this. Why inductive? Please make more clarification on this.
