Critical theory being influenced by oppressive experiences makes so much sense to me. Obviously one's experience of individual experiences matters. We can't be wholly value-free when it's qualitative data, whether researcher or subject. We discuss this so much in my public administration & political theory classes over the neverending argument of whether public administration & political science are "real" sciences.

Thank you so much. I'm not in your class but this was really beneficial. You are a great teacher and your pace is superb. Can you answer this question. How does this relate to transformative frameworks, postmodern perspectives, and pragmatism? Thanks again.

Thank you for your explanation. I have done research without knowing what paradigm I'm holding. Still, out of curiosity, isn't it enough to use correct methods to gain data that answer the research questions?

I don't know, I'm just seeing qualitative research on a slippery slope. How can its outcomes be considered valid for beyond the influence sphere of the researcher? Talk about being about research being manipulated. I am rather agast I am having to learn about qual methodology.
