Thank you very much for your video. I have reverse problem. I want to split citations to different brackets. How can i do that?
@ResearchMasterminds Жыл бұрын
You can convert the citations to unformatted text and then add brackets as needed, and one done, convert back to formatted citations.

Hi, for some reason, this isn't working for me. I'm using a Mac (Catalina) with Endnote X9 on MS Word version 16 (Office 365). Any suggestions?
@ResearchMasterminds4 жыл бұрын
I suspect the fact that you make use of a Mac may play a role. I don't have a suggestion, but would like to ask if you will please add the solution here, when you find one, as there my be others in the community with the same problem.

@@ResearchMasterminds Here's the fix: Open the Word file, select all and copy, create a new Word file, and then paste. Could have been a compatibility issue with the original Word file.

when I do this, instead of a semi colon, a comma comes. Mine is End note version X9. May I know where the problem is?
@ResearchMasterminds3 жыл бұрын
This is a problem that can be fixed by editing the output style (the referencing style). Some styles have a comma and others a semi colon.

what if do you want to start the paragraph with Two or More Works? usually the work are not in parenthesis, would it be adequate to have it in parenthesis when used in front?

Hi, after citing a resource in the text and at the in the bibliography, how can I show the relation between these two? Should I put a specific number after the cited thing in the text and in the bibliography? Also, If I cite two or more things in the same bracket how can I show it in the bibliography?
@ResearchMasterminds5 жыл бұрын
Hi Kian. When you use the Harvard referencing system, the Surname(s) year of the authors will be shown in the text. The biobliography (reference list) will be with the authors' surnames in alphabetical order. That is enough to link the in-text citation and the entry in the reference list. If you are using Vancouver, the citation in the text will be a number. In this case, the reference list will be numbered. The link between the two is then clear. If you cite two or more studies in the same bracket, you will refer to the surnames of each first author, and the specific studies will be in the reference list, with each reference list item starting with the same first author's surname. All in alphabetical order. Let me know if I understood correctly.

hi, can you help me how to unmerge two in-text citation? because everytime I try to include another in text citation it will merge with the previous one. I'm really frustrated right now actually because it keeps merging when I don't want it to merge. (even when I move my cursor away from the previous in-text citation)
@ResearchMasterminds3 жыл бұрын
Ah no, I agree, its very frustrating. A solution to avoid the in-text references to merge is to add a space between in-text references before you insert a new reference, or even a comma.
@ResearchMasterminds3 жыл бұрын
To unmerge them you can convert all citations to "unformatted" and then manually take them apart, and when you are done you just update them again.

The videos on this page may help: researchmasterminds.com/endnote
@saychoznachoz79813 жыл бұрын
@@ResearchMasterminds owhhh I see. Thank you but I also find another way. Instead of separating it manually, I just insert the same references as a new one from the endnote software, move cursor to the reference place in report > go to endnote software > click the references used > click insert citation icon at toolbar and it will directly create in-text citation at the desired place
@ResearchMasterminds3 жыл бұрын
That sounds great. Thanks for letting me know. Now others can also benefit from your solution.
