I don’t put any energy into complaining because I know eBay is not going to be on my side and I get why they love buyers more. at the end of the day I much rather the buyer ship the item back so I don’t get a bad review and then I can relist it and sell it for more so it’s basically a win-win on my end other than waste of my time, because time is money but if I can retrieve the item and sell it for more, I’m not going to complain

Apparently, after a dispute, if they side with you, eBay is paying the seller back out of pocket. Buyer still go their money back. Which is stupid because the buyer still thinks they won

eBay has always sided with me on everything. They even have removed negative feedback off my account within the day. It is all based on your metrics and account status. If you're top rated seller they will almost always side with you unless the item is not as described.

The easiest thing to do is persistently request to speak with a supervisor. Eventually they'll hand you off and the case will be solved in your favor most of the time. Just remain calm, friendly, and respectful

Yes that's right. But you must be consistent and polite. On one issue I had, it took me 2 months and speaking to 5 different ebay people. I even had one supervisor agree with me and still tho they promised to, they did not resolve the issue. But I did not give up as I knew I was in the right, and the next time it was resolved. It's too bad it takes so much effort to resolve issues, tho in the end it did work out.

I lost a dispute. The buyer wanted to return an item because he said it didn’t work and he admitted it was new in package. He also said he threw the item in the trash and couldn’t return it. eBay took the money out of my account and let him get away with it. That was the last time I listed an item with eBay.

eBay sided with a bye who purchased some Versace glasses from me. He claimed they didn’t fit his face after the measurements were clearing in my listing. I not inky has to refund the guy he even kept my glasses and shipped me back some paper. eBay did nothing to help me. That was my first week as a reseller. I started to quit that day I was so mad You definitely got lucky

Bruh someone just returned some of the socks we are selling. “Because they didn’t like the color” and eBay sided with them. Our store clearly says we do not do returns. Had to pay out like $99 cause she bought a ton of socks of a color she didn’t like and didn’t want to keep them.

Glad you don't. Lol. I always State no returns since I have many vintage items. I usually use all 24 pictures allotted to me per listing. OVER communicate any and all issues, flaws, etc. State that I will respond to any and all questions fast and will take more pictures if requested. I mention no returns and that I want them to be 100% confident prior to them purchasing. I ship extra fast and I package VERY carefully. If after all that, they still want a return.....tough. I don't think I'm shady or unscrupulous in the slightest.

Sellers are usually legit. It is buyers that have a pattern of abusing the system. Go to Fortune 500 retailers if you want to buy from companies that factor in mollycoddling buyers in theiir bottom line.

I'm a seller myself, and that is the reason why i don't sell clothing on ebay even if they sell quite well but it has a lot of returns because buyers are dumb or just assume it is gonna fit.

Me too. If I do sell any clothes I make sure to give all kinds of measurements. Still, though, people are far too likely to blame you if they just don't like the way something looks on their weird lumpy body. 😬

The buyer probably opened too many returns for a similar reason and eBay sided with the seller. My buyers use item not as described even though I accept returns.

I had a INAD case opened when i had put the measurements on he was arguing my measurements even the measurement on the said belt that was imprinted on the belt, I Ebay didn't side with me at all, I dont accept returns, he knew how to play the game.

You're whole stance is you fully understand the system at play and because you did nothing wrong you dont have to help your customer correct the service and obtain the item they set out for. One of the few things that should offer refund without question is miss sizing. Half of you dont realise youre selling to another part of the world and the measurement charts make no sense. Beyond that theres nothing wrong with the product to warrant you having to disrrgard it as a loss. Youre going to receive your item back and in turn send out the correct size. Be a better human and stop usnf the the idea that because YOU done nothing wrong it isnt your issue.

Buyers lie and state 'item no as described', then a return label is automatically generated and charged to your account. Its not easy, however if you can be arsed ebay might reimburse you for the label if you complain about the buyer mis-using the returns policy.

Currently dealing with that now, buyer bought insulated coveralls from me at half price of original posting after making an offer then imeadiatly after complained about shipping price that was listed next to the price to begin with, cited other coveralls are only 5$ after informing him im not in control of shipping prices he said gotcha, now hes complained about some small frying on the bottom hem on the coveralls, in description i stated they had been used but are in great condition, which he assumes is perfect condition, i couldve taken better pics but the frying is visible in one the pics but now i have deal with siding entirely with him on this return.

They have always sided with me as long as you have it fully explained! I had one guy who paid $125 for a pair of 3D glasses and a 3D movie and was pissed when he didn’t get two. My response was that certain things in the English language is a pair like underwear and jeans or glasses and it’s only one and they sided with me!

It's all dependent on the case the buyer opens. If you have legitimate evidence, ie description or personal messages with the buyer, eBay will side with the seller 90% of the time. If anything, talk to them on the phone and tell them the hard evidence you have and they'll more than likely side with you for making the effort

If it says in your description and in settings that you don’t accept returns they usually will give you the option of refunding. I did that one time -the buyer changed their mind. I accepted the return and it was okay but obviously used once or twice. Never again.

I was an ebay seller. I took all my inventory off ebay after they screwed me over. I had a brand new license plate bracket for a Jeep wrangler for sale. I even had what years it for and the part number listed. They allowed an to purchase this product. Drill holes through it so it "would fit" his jeep. He was able 5o use it for a whole month, getting wear and tear on it, then returned it for a full refund, stating it did not fit his vehicle correctly. A case was open and he won. I had the item returned to me aged and used. I had picture proof and everything they still sided with him nd took the money for a refund. I said f#$^ ebay. I took my 100 plus items off and went to Mercari to sell. At the time thier percentage was less and no random fees. Ebay nickle and dimes and screws sellers over.

I recently sold an antique electric piano on eBay for $2500. The buyer paid through eBay, and I shipped the item from Atlanta to California, covering the packing, shipping, and insurance costs. After receiving the piano, the buyer held onto it for four days before claiming it was broken and demanding a refund. However, despite my requests, the buyer refuses to provide photos of the damage necessary for an insurance claim. eBay's solution is for me to pay for return shipping to facilitate the refund, but I'm hesitant to send money to an uncooperative buyer who won't even provide the required photos. To add to the frustration, eBay is urging me to accept less money, while the customer is insisting on a $500 discount. On top of all this, eBay is also taking over $450 in commission. This experience has definitely made me reconsider selling on eBay in the future.

On my first sale my buyer asked for a return because i listed a bag as black and she said i sent the wrong item because i sent her a "midnight" color bag. Long story but she had swapped my authentic bag for a fake bag in her return. I had a ton of pictures and i had video of me opening her return. I won the dispute! Ebay took my side . Im so happy because i would have not sold again if they hadnt.

@@jboydayz No it isn't. Here's a simple example. I sell a part to fit a certain model car. This part changed in size part way through the period the car was made. I sell both sizes. Every once in a while, someone complains that they got the wrong size. No you didn't, you bought the wrong size because you were too stupid to read the description and figure out what size you need. When they say they got the wrong size, what they're saying is that I sent them the wrong part. That's not the case. They bought the wrong part.

Just out of curiosity. What kind of proof can the buyer provide? Not getting at anything. I bought something almost a month ago, Shipping was delayed twice. Tracking info came late, and tracking info is from some weird website. Tracking number won’t work anywhere but this website. ccs-couriers. I’m worried that I got scammed. So if I need to take it up to ebay, what kind of proof can I provide if all the tracking is fake?

This is payment dispute case buyer filed under their bank. If the case id starts with 53 or 52 that means it’s via ebay. Otherwise its a chargeback if it starts with 50.

You can get your money back from eBay a buyer or a seller by money back guarantee if you ask eBay to call you back they will call you back and I’ve got my money back and the items was even returned to me but was damaged.

People are always so damn quick to open up a case thinking that the rules don’t apply to them maybe they just don’t read them. Either way this is a problem many of us struggle with all to much. I had a customer about a week ago open up a case on a $57 item that she received later that day. My funds were on hold for a whole week.

They were on my side aswell. The product worked perfectly and they didnt even know how to use the product. They wanted a refund but i dont accept refunds. Then they made a case and ebay was on my side thankfully. So they got their refund and the product and i stayed with my money

Happened with me sometime brought a Burberry vintage jacket was clearly stated it had a lil rip its 20yrs old ffs told on this on description & to buyer nope still wanted his £60 “which was cheap anyway” put up like 15 photos and always say study photos before u buy eBay will always side with u then. Glad you got to keep your money but personally, I’ve found it better for business to just take returns and if it’s a really dumb reason offer them a partial return. For me personally, i only have about a 4% return rate so accepting returns no matter what the reason saves me time, hassle, and gives me a lot of great reviews while not losing any money. If I can get a customer who didn’t like the product to still leave a good review because of the experience they had with me I feel I’m more than happy to accept any return because I can just resell that item again and keep the good review or save myself from a bad review and time dealing with disputes

If you’re top rated with free returns then you would only return the cost of the item not shipping. The customer would get some money back and you could resell the item. I would only recommend if you sell items as a job and not a hobby though. If you’re selling just a few items it doesn’t matter. If you have a free returns and are top rated you’ll have 15-20% more sales.

The problem here is honest mistakes happen and the buyer admitted it and asked for a return why not accept and have them pay return shipping. What happens is people become dishonest and start lying about why the return is requested and then eBay makes you accept because they say something like the pants weren’t as described. We all lose on these issues.

It happens all the time so to have an honest buyer admit they made a mistake and reach out for your understanding then why not show some mercy considering how often people lie to get us to accept returns. You have a right not too I’m just presenting it at another angle.

That is very surprising because my ad specifically says no bypod no scope and I have a customer that wants those 2 items and they are both detailed in the ad that they do not come with neither one and eBay cited with them told me that if I They would be able to keep the item and I would owe the money back how is that legal if there's any attorneys reading this As far as my case goes it should be open and shut there's no Nothing that determines I was Is wrong please hit me up with your information I will follow-up.

Had far simpler ones decided I buyer favour even when they admit purchasing it wrong item etc costing me two postage then they stole the gaskets returned ew item I got no money returned or help they refunded buyer minutes after tracking said was delivered while I was at work watch out ebay let others literally steal your info pictures and whole listing beware they don't care

This is not the case all the time. You were probably just lucky. When one of the reason for return is stated by eBay as “doesn’t fit”, it is your risk if you accept or not the return. Most buyers lie if they see you can’t accept the return, so they open a case “ item as not described” and eBay close the case in their favour. The only time eBay close the case in the seller’s favour is when you proof that the item was shipped very fast, otherwise it is a game changer.

More likely the buyer has a pattern of abusing returns. The only other time ebay sides with the SELLER is when you are Top Rated Plus. I have free returns all all my items. Any buyer who returns an items, I find the tiniest fault to mark as the reason for refund deduction. Every single time, ebay sides with me on the refund. Then again, ebay refunds the difference I did not refund. Further, get the ef away from clothing and shoes. If that's all you sell, I bet you get multiple returns every week.

If your asking retail prices act like a retail store, does Walmart sell clothing as is? If your selling at a discount it’s different but if your charging them full blown retail you should also offer all the retail services that come with that high price tag. How many measurements do you do for pants? I do 7, jackets and shirts 4 measurements, free 30 day returns because I price my cloth at vintage retail prices, I’ve had probably 5 returns out of a 100 or so sizes, all for not fitting and I accept the return because like I said they paid a retail price so I provide retail service. I mean even most thrift shops offer 7 day returns.

Na, when you buy used you take full responsibly for your purchases. Buy new if you want returns. Taking 7 measurements of pants is excessive, you’re wasting your time 👍

I agree. It doesn’t matter how much you price your items for. The customers should read descriptions to understand what the agreement is before purchase. This laptop dickbag clearly doesnt know much about retail or making purchases…

No. Never do the return. You earned that money fair and square, you don't deserve to lose it. The buyer could also be scamming. Sometimes they don't send back the real item.

@@tonymiami5480 It's not about whether or not you can sell it to someone else, it's about the fact that the deal has already been made and the buyer agreed to the terms. The seller should not have to pay for anything if he is not at fault.

its funny when I find it most the sellers are thieves liars and cheats. yeah there's goods one, but the bad out number the good. It's not because the sellers are leaving eBay that business is declining, it's because it's supposed to be fast, easy, and convenient. Non of which describes ebay. sellers cuss at customers. call them liars over a $7 product and call them thieves even know you provide pictures, post office put in damage control bag, the post office agrees to send a statement, and I have home security cameras showing the item in the damage bag being put into my mailbox by the mail carrier. if I order 20 items I get at least 2 to 4 of that type of seller every time. ones who wait until after expected delivery date to even send it out if at all. yeah poor sellers. you fucked yourself, now live with it or change. poor victims, people trying to spend their hard earned money with you.

eBay seems to side with the seller first. I recently bought a smartwatch from eBay. The seller put the wrong address on the packet whatever the reason was. I never received it. eBay first sided with the seller. I submitted the evidence with the help from the post office (GPS something). With the evidence, I was able to win.

You don't want a customer shopping with you if they can't properly read details, descriptions, and sizes. You will get returns/refunds everytime. You're actually setting yourself up for failure if you keep those customers.
