I wonder if Eric has any pertiant information at the possibilities of other motives about Anthony being killed? He would be smart to never tell if he does. You might want to zip it up if you do. A very specific sadness, sharp and abrupt, comes over me about half way through this video when I realize that I will never see these 2 great chefs in the same room together. At first it is just 2 friends together, cooking, drinking and having so much fun, but then the reality sets in. My heart is heavy for Bourdain's loss, but it is far more heavy for those who actually/REALLY knew him. Yes, I'm speaking to you Eric, even though you may never see this. I think he was a great man because of the stories I've heard/seen, however you know he will always be a great man, for you knew him better than most. Self loathing leads to self destruction and self destruction leads to self loathing. What a tragic paradox Anthony’s life was. Brilliant, interesting, articulate, boldly candid but he just couldn’t stop the inner raging....and his rage had no source, no target. That’s the saddest part. It was mind chaos and will anyone ever know why or from where it originated? In the end he was such an amazing and lovable LOVABLE guy. Tremendous loss. Eric embodies purity in every sense. What a beautiful, real friend for Anthony to have had. Just feel sad watching this today. Sometimes the ending of a life can be interrupted or thwarted as easily and as simply as a moment’s distraction by an unexpected call of a visit from a friend. A second’s delay can literally be all the time and distraction it takes to redirect a despairing person’s thoughts.

There is no such thing as an Alcoholic personality but certain personality types are prone to addiction. A long term study done at Harvard concluded that chronic habitual drinking severely depresses the nervous system. Their research found that if heavy drinkers with depression abstain for a time their depression lifts. Alcoholism is a chronic, progressive permanent disease which is extremely difficult to overcome especially in its later stages. It would be interesting to see the number of Americans diagnosed with alcoholism eventually commit suicide. What even complicates alcohol induced depression is indulgence in other psychoactive addictive drugs. Any drug which impacts our brain and nervous system eventually affects our rational decision making ability, clouds our good judgment and can result in dangerous decisions and fatal behaviors.
