Reservoir Dogs was supposed to be an Indie post-college type film so Quentin Tarantino could show people he could direct. However, when Harvey Keitel read the script he immediately poured money into the project and got top-notch actors to sign on. Secured a distribution deal for Quentin Tarantino and suddenly Quentin Tarantino was the hottest young director in Hollywood. Making a film ten times better quality than his peers for one-tenth the money and sending Quentin Tarantino into legendary status. Also, the woman who shoots Mr. Orange before he kills her was Tim Roth's dialect coach who taught him an American accent. She was so hard on him he asked for her to play the woman he killed.

Not John Carpenter's The Thing, he was talking Fantastic Four The Thing which is a rockman. However, Tarantino has said on several occasions that Hateful Eight and Reservoir Dogs are loose adaptations structure wise as John Carpenter's The Thing, I tend to agree especially with Hateful Eight with Kurt Russell. All about paranoia, knowing there is an interloper but not sure which one that everyone and Noone is a suspect. Quentin Tarantino has said many times he thinks John Carpenter's The Thing is one of the best pieces of cinema ever made and I always thought in Hateful Eight Keith David or Wilford Brimley or another cast member of The Thing.

Hey Asia and BJ, the character subtext in this movie is so next level. -------- Harvey Keitel feels responsible for getting Tim Roth shot. -------- HE stops thinking like a criminal and starts taking on a father figure role, soothing Tim Roth as he bleeds out. --------- He knows ROth's going to die, he feels responsible for it and it won't let him entertain the fact that Tim Roth is a cop. -------- Tarantino's subtext is always next level and gives the meaning of events in the movie so much more psychological impact than would be in a normal shoot-em-up heist flick.

By how many Tarantino movies you have seen already, you now know that its always packed with well known names, and Tarantino even has his own favourite actors/actresses wich he keeps wanting to have in his movies. Even when you get up to date with his movies, there are more where his best friend Robert Rodgriguez is the Director/Producer. And in Rodriguez`s movies,Tarantino often has a role in the movies,so they are connected. A very good example there is El Mariachi from 1992,wich was Roberts debut movie. Not awhole lot of known names at all,but in the sequel Desperado from 1995 Robert has massive success and Tarantino joins forces with his best friend. Michael Madsen is an outstanding actor,i have loved him in tons of huge productions over the years. He has had a rough private life after the massive success, wich he has spoken openly to his fans about, but he never disappoints on the big screen. 17:55 in this iconic scene Michael Madsen (sitting in his very recognizable posture) ends up "play fighting" with Chris Penn,Sean Penns younger brother who sadly passed in 2006. You remember him from Footloose with Kevin Bacon and in Rush Hour with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Gone waaay waaay too soon! Harvey Keitel was also such a huge name in movies during the entire 80s and 90s,even early 2000s but then i have problem mentioning titles he is in. He can literally play anything,if you want to see him in a lead role wich is a complete 180 from this movie, you should check out the Oscar winning movie Piano from 1993. The movie At Close Range from 1986 is to my knowledge the only movie where both Sean Peann and Chris Penn got to star together. I highly recommend it as it has a cast only with top listers at the time, amongst them some alltime legends.

When they says Joe Cabot looked like “The Thing” it was in reference to the rock guy on Fantastic Four

Quentin was up against some real competition this year with the release of Batman Returns, Lethal Weapon 3, Sister Act and Home Alone 2: Lost in NY. 2 Major Franchises, Sister Act which I remember seeing in 93 or 94 when it came on HBO. Home Alone 2. Reservoir Dogs was released in less than 100 theaters.

Most underrated Tarantino movie is Deathproof. it stars the stunt person for Uma Thurman in Kill Bill. She does her own stunts, obviously, and it is a celebration of the movie stunt professional. Definitely worth a watch!

One Fan Theory is that Mr. Pink got away with the diamonds, and went into hiding, and he's playing the same charector in Pulp Fiction. It kinda ties in with the in universe fact that Vic Vega/Mr. Blonde and Vincent Vega (John Travolta in Pulp Fiction) are brothers.

Mr. White told Mr. Orange that getting shot in the stomach takes about 3 days to die. First time I watched this movie I was rooting for Mr. Pink to get the hell out of there. He waited too long.

Mr Blonde was Travolta's brother from pulp fiction. They we're going to do a Vega brothers prequel but both actors got too old as time ran out to get the project set up. This movie deserves a second watch to see all the hints. Especially the movie nods like orange containers in the room when they were talking about who the rat was. The ear slicing scene, Quentin had to fight to keep in as executive meddling was afraid it would revolt viewers away.
