Almost immediately, y'all reacted viscerally to one of the big aspects of this movie that the other actors talk about: That scene where Nicholson talks about how the woman "fell funny" after an execution, was actually born out of an understanding that Scorsese had with Jack. He'd actually thought about and added that in, and Scorsese liked it. The actors, DiCaprio, Damon, everyone that worked closely with him, said he was more like a writer who could act, because he'd take a simpler scene and build on it in a way that matched his character and complemented the script without actually messing with it.

It was really cool to see people speaking with the accent I grew up with, and thought was normal. I grew up frequenting, and later working at, a pizza joint as a teenager. Everyone who worked there sounded like this, the Irish and the Italians. Since going to university and working out in central/western MA, I lost some of the accent. However, every time I go back home or talk with someone who has it, it naturally comes right back like it never left. Sometimes I feel like I've been acting this whole time and speaking the way people expect me to out here to blend in. It's always been there, though.

Even earlier then that, he plays an impeccable role alongside Johnny Depp in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape". Leo looks about 14-15 and plays a severely mentally challenged child with a personality of like an 8 year old.. it's really impressive.. (I'm not positive if it's Down Syndrome only bc he doesn't have any form of the usual physical traits associated with DS.. but he kills the role despite how highly difficult type of acting needed for any age, esp a teen). When Captain Queenan (Martin Sheen) is plunging to his death from the building, there are X's on the windows of the building as he's falling. When Matt Damon's character finally kills Costello (Jack Nicholson), there's a big X on some building structure behind him (Matt Damon). At the end, when Matt Damon comes out of the elevator with grocery bags in his arms, there's a big X taped to the floor of the hallway.

In fact, any criminal willing to give a steady supply of info on other criminals can do it and gain a certain amount of leniency or passivity from the law enforcement. A personal example is, I knew a guy that was with two friends and they were pulled over in traffic stop. The driver should have faced a dui charge and another a gun posession. But the third guy got out and went back to the police cruiser to have a conversation with the officers and they were let go. They had no idea what happened but a year later the guy died for health reasons and it came out that he was an informant. Not snitching on his friends, but snitching all the same

People always talk about the Italian Mafia, but sometimes they forget about the Irish gangsters in Boston. Some of those Mic guys were every bit as brutal as the Italian brothas. That’s Vera Farmiga. She’s mostly a scream queen (Insidious series, I think). I think she is very underrated. My favorite role of hers was as Norma Bates in the Bates Motel (tv show that is a prequel to Psycho, and , incidentals stars Freddie Highmore as Norman Bates, another underrated actor). I think Vera is very beautiful as well, and happens to be the older sister of Taissa Farmiga, who is part of the Amazing American Horror Story reoccurring cast.

Once again one of my favorite couples reacting to by far one of the greatest endings of all time they certainly don't make like this anymore specially in the late 2000s where everything started going downhill for the Entertainment industry for rare gem 💎 gangster masterpieces like these with all-star heavy hitters like Sopranos did before it ended that year learned from the best with all these actors from old to youngest all putting one of Marten Scorcees last rare gem all-star cast from rookies to highest position you can go in cop world and gangster directed and written by one of the greatest of all time

Matt Damons character suffers from ED, which is why the girlfriend asked if he wants to talk about it. Her being pregnant could possibly be Leonardo DiCaprio's character's kid.

What?? I never heard that about his character? How do you know this? Genuinely want to know
@AbeVicious Жыл бұрын
@emilykeegan4345 The look of shame on his face when they're talking and she saying a lot of guys have the same problem. And she wanted to tell William something, which was most likely that she's pregnant, but he told her to wait and tell him in 2 weeks before he was killed.

@@AbeViciousIt's pretty weird cause Sullivan was getting weird cause.of the job and threats to his life,seems like they had alot of sex. She slept with Billy once so him being the father is not realistic. Movie logic.

@@christofferjenzen78 so getting pregnant in a one night stand isn't possible?
@christofferjenzen789 ай бұрын
@@AbeVicious I never said that. It's just comparing a one night stand to having sex alot often...the percentage is on Colins side. Even if his junk malfunctions sometimes,it doesn't always cause then she wouldn't be with him.

Costello is very loosely based on Whitey Bulger. Bulger was a Boston Irish Mafia boss and he worked insanely closely with FBI agent John Connolly. Connolly grew up in the same Irish Projects that Bulger operated in. Bulger gave Connolly information on the Italian Mafia, essentially using the FBI to take out his competition. Connolly rose quickly up the ranks of the FBI because of the information given to him by Bulger. This mutually beneficial relationship also included protection from local law enforcement provided by Connolly. In the early 90s someone made a big enough stink about it all and the FBI came for Bulger. He managed to evade arrest until the early 2010s.

@tileux are you incapable of realizing something can have multiple sources of inspiration? Damn, people who do that drive me nuts. Yes, its based off the hong kong film Internal Affairs, but they changed up the script and characters and based Costello and his situation off of Whitey Bulger and his criminal empire. It's a mix, not just one source or the other.

Glad you did this one, because the movie is incredible. I think the movie is trying to tell us the baby is Costigan's. Remember, Sullivan was having problems performing in the bedroom. That wrong address wasn't just the number..they were in Wash street but he told Billy to meet them on Washington street. That scene where Jack tells dude to not laugh, I'm pretty sure that was a character break by the actor, but Jack stayed in character and the scene came out great so they used it. One more thing, that woman from the Conjuring is also in a great movie with George Clooney and Anna Kendrick called Up In The Air. You should definitely check that out.

I can't help but notice you guys really enjoy films by great directors that are nominated for, or winners of Oscar awards. With that in mind, the best movies I've seen in the last few years that you should watch are "JoJo Rabbit" and "Parasite". The latter is a perfect film in my eyes. Thanks as always for the review ❤❤

What movie were you two watching? When she opened the envelope, the was a CD inside with a note that said "play me now" The Baby is Leonardo's, and Walberg knew who the rat was because she passed the envelope on to him... tada!!!!
@christofferjenzen789 ай бұрын
The baby is not Leo's for certain, that's movie logic. He fucked her once, I'm pretty sure Matt shot alot of loads in her, he started having problems performing when he got threatened and Job went to shit.

20:20 this is the first time I have ever noticed that Alec Baldwin says "Costello has AT LEAST one mole in the Special Investigations Unit." They tell you the twist right there like a third of the way through the movie.
