Everything was going splendid until it finished the resetting process. It then returned to a screen not this video where I evidently made the wrong choice and was returned to the old login screen. "choose an option screen. I chose continue. Must have been the wrong answer.

As far as restarting is concerned, you can hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to force restart or shut it down. For keyboard, have you tried an external keyboard? If that works then you can replace the laptop keyboard, which should solve your problem. Hope that helps.
