I really appreciate you showing the dirty garage, lol. Social media makes me feel like everyone keeps their spaces perfectly spick and span all the time and that I’m not doing enough. I truly don’t have the time/mental capacity to do serious deep cleans every week! In reality, I think many of us have those big cleaning projects we put off for a while. Happy to know I’m not alone in that 😅 We’re all just doing our best out here, with the weight of the countless regular, nonnegotiable tasks we have to do every day!

Hey, just a tip for your sofa cushions - put them in the loft over winter! Trust me! I have a similar sofa and it's not advised to leave it out over winter even if covered. Reason being, snow, wet and damp can really make it mouldy and gross as well as bugs and stuff crawling under neath when it's really cold! It is a hassle to lug into the loft, but realistically, you won't lie on it again for 5 months! So worth it to keep it lasting longer and especially after you've cleaned it!

Today is the day I deep clean all my bathrooms. I hate it and I don't know why I chose to do it on Monday's, but here we are. I appreciate the cleaning content. The amount of work that went into the garage makes my bathroom duty seem so small 😅. Also, I love the idea of sentimental ornaments and small but meaningful decor around the holidays. it's what I do and sometimes I feel it isn't enough. We really do compare ourselves so much to others when we should always do what's right for us.❤ ❤❤❤

Good morning Allana and Lan Fans! I’m so excited. My first morning with a cuppa tea, stretching by the fireplace while I watch Lanmas. This is just my favorite time of year for this reason. I love a good home reset. Feels so good mentally to have a clutter free clean space. I was thinking about what you said about our parents, and did they do this whole winterizing things. We didn’t really have outdoor furniture except for those aluminum and webbing foldable chairs. We didn’t sit outside much, probably cause I grew up on a farm and if we were outside we were working. Our winterizing was canning vegetables and cleaning out the garden. When I travelled to Haiti, something really struck me. How much more time they had because they didn’t own so much stuff. We spend a ridiculous amount of time taking care of our stuff. The more we own, the more time we spend! I hope you and Dejan have a fun time with Lanmas, manage to stay sniffle free, and that Canada Post doesn’t ruin Christmas!

Love you showing us ornaments every year, I think collecting over the years and have special ones from family and trips you’ve been on are the best and will put a smile on your face every year! We do the same thing, last year we bought our first Christmas tree and got just a few ornaments felt special or reminded us of something. also our friend gave us a few with our names on it and now when we travel if we see a nice ornament we take it with us to add to the collection 😊

Seeing your garage was humanising - mine is always dirty too, it’s open to the elements and it’s just one of those things that make you feel like you ain’t got your life together! Love the lil chat bout the sentimental ornaments too. I am a theme Christmas girl, for me the creativity of doing something new with a tree each year is really enjoyable and I look forward to it and plan and collect different things in the lead up. I have a collection now of things I can swap between and it’s great and brings me a lot of joy - I often even end up lending bits and pieces to friends and families for their trees each. There’s so many videos on Instagram and TikTok at the moment really shitting on the theme tree people so I really appreciate that you didn’t do that❤ love the collected vibe too and I just think that there is space for everybody to get joy out of Christmas in the way that works for them

The garage makes me feel very seen, so thanks a lot. 🥰😂 Re the freshly cleaned cushions - I’d store them indoors over winter, if you have an attic or a corner in your basement for them. It’s likely that the moisture from the rain and snow and the changing temps will make them go mouldy and smelly over the winter. Use the covers on rainy days in the summer and move them in for winter. Just talking from experience here. ☺️ And this reminded me that we’ve actually forgotten ours in our cushion box outside and need to move them inside tomorrow!!! 🙊😂

Wow, such a busy girl! I get what you mean about the white containers versus clear, i think you can see the makeup colours better against the white. personally, i use the white cutlery trays that have inserts that you can adjust to fit different sizes of makeup. YAY LANMAS XXOO

You can power wash outdoor fabric to clean. I would store them inside for the winter though, forget about covers if you live in a winter climate I wouldn't worry about cleaning until the spring.

So the thing about parents is, yes, they did the things that now we as adults look around after YEARS in our homes and think; huh, is that something I was supposed to do regularly? Seasonally? My parents bought a tiny little Rudolph book 30 years ago which hung from our tree, and my parents don’t bother putting their tree up now that me and my sister have moved out and don’t have kids yet. Having the gym in the garage where you actually park your car is so amazing but yes can get dirty. We invested in epoxy for the flooring and have the equipment on similar padding that you have, and my husband has a specific “leaf blower” for just the garage and the epoxy makes it easy to clean any mud or gunk build up from the car coming in. We also have wall storage and ceiling storage for decorations but his hockey stuff fits perfectly on the wall so that the floor doesn’t have miscellaneous things. I would probably not care but he and Dejan seem similar with the Christmas Tree timer and other gadgets. 😂
