Watching a craftsman is never boring. More detail is better, though I know what it takes to make a video. I appreciate your efforts and skill. And humor!!

Man If my grandma saw those seats nobody would get a chance to feel the vinyl, they would have plastic on them their whole life. I see that you made bigger bolsters to get that seat to hug and a larger area for lower back/lumbar. Beautiful seats!

Just what I was looking for, bolsters. I want to split the rear bench by replacing a strip in the center springs with wood. Then add bolsters to each side. I think it can be done, therefore, it can. Yes? Thanks for the video.

Sides are fuller and the lumbar pillow is pushing twice the size. Plus a fuller foam all the way around

Is the foam scrim foam? I’m an amateur and do some aircraft stuff. Vintage = fewer rules. I’ve added layers of padding but don’t think I’ve ever foamed an entire job due to weight concerns(plus I don’t get paid much as it’s typically a buddy thing so I often do detailed work using customer’s cheap supplies). The foam effect is great! The steamer secret has also done wonders when they are too cheap or simply unable to find 50 yo pattern cushions. I have done it but never offered to pattern complex foam bolsters, etc. Great content with a creativity and detail that few can understand. Thank you!

For the seat covers, I use scrim foam. I love aircraft upholstery! Most of the time my customers require the FAA Burn tested materials. Gets expensive!

@@oldschoolautoupholstery Thanks. Yeah I think it's '76 or so for the FAA rule. Some of the later fire retardant treatments are actually corrosive to aluminum from what I've seen. Of coarse seats weighed 3+ times as much by then. The 40s and 50s stuff is super light. Good intentions sometimes makes no sense. Keep up the great stuff. It's inspiring!

Pro tip, plus panels being assembled into covers. You're brave only ordering 3 1/2 yd of vinyl. I'd have had to order extra...... Extra Bonus video.!!!!!

Did you use 3.5 yards of vinyl for each seat?
