Air Jordan 11 Complete Restoration

These Anniversary Air Jordan 11s were in desperate need of a clean, reglue and so much more. Vick Almighty picked these up on eBay after seeing the poor shape that they were in and took on the challenge to bring them back to their beautiful shine! In today's Customs and Restorations with Vick we will walk you through a full restoration on the iconic Air Jordan 11.
First we had to take care of the cleaning portion using RESHOEVN8R! These were a 2010 release and it looks like they have been collecting grime for the last 13 years. The Signature Cleaning Kit was going to be one of the biggest components of this entire cleaning. The 3 brush pack and natural Solution was used to break down all of the dirt and grime on the white mesh and patent leather. Once the pre-treatment was done we needed to throw it in the washing machine. The washing machine is really key for cleaning mesh sneakers ESPECIALLY white kicks! Don't be afraid to wash your sneakers... Vick said you could!
After the cleaning was complete it was time to unyellow the sneakers. The icy bottoms on the Jordan 11s are known for yellowing, but it is reversible. All you need is a little bit of Sole Revive and 4500W of UV rays.
Once the shoe was clean and unyellowed they looked fantastic.. Well minus the fact that the sole was hanging on by a "thread" or a piece of glue! So now it is time to take care of that sole. We had to separate the sole completely prior to gluing the sole back together. After the sole was off you already know it was time for prep-work (AKA the most important step of a restoration!). Prep- work was finished and now comes the fun part the reglue process! This is a tricky process, but if you follow these steps you will get the perfect reglue every time.

I feel you man, I remember buying my 1st pair of airmax and had to travel for them, it took me ages to save up for them and I was young, they were Air max BW imperial blue, and these were times that if you wore trash shoes at school you were getting beat up, my mom.ead one of those that would say...."I'm not spending that on trainers for you to ruin" so we would get pairs like mercury or kingfisher or hi-tech obviously she didn't realise that you would get bullied for having these type of shoes. I've got a soon to be 7 year old son and I always make sure to get him decent shoes because I'd never want him to go through what we had to go through as kids

Vick, I’m sure you’re aware but if you take the soles off first and deoxidize it the UV can fully penetrate the clear rubber and remove all yellowing. I’ve done it both ways (on shoes/off shoe) and the difference is night and day. This method can return the soles back to brand new. Try both ways in a future video to showcase the difference. Keep up the great work!

Yes! You can use Sole Revive to unyellow the complete sole.

It would have to be repaired with leather filler and refinished. It is super difficult to fix scratches on patent leather.

Avoid washing suede, wool, and nubuck shoes in the washing machine, as these materials are highly susceptible to color transfer and bleeding.

So the white paint ontop of the glue for the toebox area never messes with the overall bond? I see that another layer of glue was put onto the areas after the first 2 coats of glue and paint so maybe that is where it eliminates the concern im speaking of.

Washing machine can loosen the adhesive glue on shoes too don't make it a habit using the washing machine on a regular trust me I know been into shoes since da early 90s way way before all da 👞 hype.

You can apply the Sole Revive and let them in the indoor setup, we recommend keeping a check every 2 hours in the indoor setup. If you do not get the desired results then you need to reapply the Sole Revive. The amount of times you will need to reapply Sole Revive will depend on the severity of oxidation.
