Residence Inn by Marriott Long Beach Downtown ( Near Carnival Cruise Port)

Very nice hotel. Not a lot of security. Seems security it lax. Seems like you are on an island away from civilization, including stores, restaurants, bars, shopping, or even police. No police presence anywhere near the hotel. Called the police there once because a homeless guy stole my wallet, and it took about an hour for the police to arrive from across the river/bay. Had to check in with cash, but they were able to accommodate because they seem to keep a lot of cash behind the counters.
