RE2R is really good. Its the only RE game ive played cause i dont like horror. I was playing it back in January. I didn't get to beat my second run because P3R came out and i just never went back to it. Still vert fun

I had the same experience with REmake. It's the game that got me into horror and made me fall in love with survival horror. You should revisit RE2R if you're ever interested after P3R! I'm still on the fence about whether to pick it up or not. I think I want to discuss the FES version at some point. I might not have anything critical to say, but a persona video at this point seems like a content creature right of passage 😂😂😂

RE1 RMK is my favorie and I still think it is the best quintessencial horror experience. It is harder to get into for modern audiences for sure but I don't see that as a bad thing because it is all for the atmosphere and also not everything needs to be for everyone. RE2 RMK did some magic for sure in still keeping most of the vibe but it is undeniable that the opressive and caustrophobic atmosphere took a hit in favor of modernizing elements like camera and gameplay. But as you said in the video, capcom doesn't agree with me so uhhh, at least we still have indies to fill that niche now. the main plot does leave a lot to be desired because this rmk kinda only has 1 story with some parts exclusive to each character and it's not really the big A and B scenario happening at the same time like the original but still i'm glad they included said run for gameplay reasons, because the second run is so much more fun to me than the first, the game flows so much faster and you can better take in the new stellar game play loop. Finally talking about the RE engine, that shit is magic, nuff said. I live in a third world contry as i'm sure you know so getting new hardware is complicated to say the least, but this engine runs very well on hardware a bit on the older side, while losing almost no graphical fidelity at all while keeping 60fps for most of the run. Does it have the best graphics ever? no, but they are still very good and it runs very smoothly. To me this is the standart for how AAA should do this stuff, getting the best possible graphics while preserving the gameplay and framerate. My only real negative is how much lore they cut out from the new RMK series compared to the original because man there's a lot. But I'm sure there are ppl who prefer it simplified like it is now so take it with a grain of salt.

I completely agree with everything you're saying. I kinda go back and fourth with which I honestly prefer. At the time of writing RE2R was better .... But na, REmake is the king if you can get into it. RE2R for me is a gateway into survival horror for new fans. That game got so many people into the genre! And I agree on the graphics front as well! Capcom has the best balance of performance and graphics. This should be the standard instead of future proofing games like Alan Wake 2. That game is like the modern crysis lol

Re2 remake changed the story, characters and lore to tell a worse story. The new gameplay was fun and engaging but I will still prefer original when it comes to story. I missed Leon’s boy-scout attitude in the face of danger rather than his new “I’m a cop and I have authority” attitude.

You're definitely right. This is game is more of a reimaging than it is a remake. I should revisit the originals. I know the original RE3 is undeniably better.
