The length of this game CANNOT be long enough. It's long for the new player rightly so, but very short lived for those that keep returning. The whole point why they dragged the length out was to make a point that no matter how hard you try to fight the xenomorphs, let alone even survive they always find ways to expand upon their infestation. A great example is moving the dish. They NEVER would've found their way into the habitation center at the end. And had you not released them from the reactor purge, they wouldn't have been agitated enough to investigate the outside of the station when you move the dish. Which results in them finding new ways into previously secured areas. Another neat thing is knowing that Gemini exoplanets and the reactor share the same walls and when you trigger the queens scream as you enter Gemini shes literally right beneath the player embedded on the opposite side of the wall in engineering/ reactor area.

I'm glad I'm not the only person bothered by the length! And I knew I heard a distinct scream in Gemini! Good catch on the queen! This game is so special.

I really liked the deep dive into the game's production, it's cool cause we can see the passion and commitment that creative assembly had specially with how important it was for them to do a faithful adaptation of the alien universe. In this era of remakes and remasters I feel that most devs don't give enough attention the the source material and in turn they don't really understand why it was so popular. I'm definitely not thinking about any game in particular when I say this, no sir. Also Romulus is GOOD SHIT, it's up there with the first 2 films foe me, so like the first 2 films, romulus and alien isolation are all amazing and anyone with an interest in alien should probably check all of them out. Not only that but we're also getting an alien isolation sequel? damn it's a good time to be an alien fan.

I'm happy you enjoyed, and you're spot on with your assessment! Respecting source material will only help with immersion! I'm pretty excited for sequel and will watch Romulus this weekend!

The retrofuturistic aesthetic definitely helped in making the game somewhat timeless for me. Stressful is also one good word to encapsulate the whole experience. And while the news of a sequel definitely surprised me, I'd be cautiously optimistic of where Creative Assembly will take this narrative.

I LOVE the aesthetic and the atmosphere of this game! There's something so charming about the historical take on the future. It feels so vintage yet charming. When I first played the game back in the day, it was horrifying but the stress is what made the whole game so exhausting to play, which is a compliment! Maybe Creative Assembly could get 20th century fox's approval to reveal more details about how David killed the engineers, created the xenomorph, and more. The company seems to be aware of everything, so revealing how they're involved could be great!

@@DogmasDomain It's indeed charming, and for me, it's also more grounded than the aesthetic from Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Although the shift from retrofuturism to a sleek, typical future makes sense because the Prometheus and Covenant expeditions have higher budget from the Weyland Corporation. I think the stress helped build up the determination to match Ripley's fight for survival. We want to survive, and we also want her to survive. Ugh. I wish CA could do that and give a better closure to the storylines of Prometheus and Covenant. I do enjoy Alien: Romulus. I've been a fan of Fede Alvarez since the brutal Evil Dead remake, and I love the performances, the return to retrofuturistic aesthetic, and the practical effects, but I'd love to see how things will wrap up with the Prometheus and Alien: Covenant storyline. I was already engaged with David's journey. If only they can make less stupid characters. The Alien: Romulus characters are already smarter than a bunch of scientists and colonizers.
