For normal players, the machine gun is really good against the G Mutant since it mops up the parasites its spawns easily while still hammering away at the boss, something you don't really need to worry about in scenario B.

So, I decided to play some of this today. Haven't played any videogames in a long while. There I was, just at the beginning in the police station. Power goes out. Apparently, someone had crashed into a transformer, taking out over 2,500 of Pacific Power's customer's electricity. They estimate it being put back on before 3:30 AM the next day. Update: Power is back on, and I'm processing file restoration on my PS3.

Out of curiousity, do you have any plans to trying this challenge with Nightmare difficulty (which I think is exclusive to the DC version) Carci? I'd be curious to see the differences between Nightmare and Normal difficulty (since I've only ever played the PS1/PSN version)

Hard Mode is Nightmare Difficulty but with auto aim. I may consider redoing this on Nightmare because the strats make it not hard for A Scenarios. B Scenario Super Tyrant will be a problem though...

also Nightmare is on PC, you just select Arrange Hard. It's just named differently on Dreamcast.

With this particular PC version you can try the Overhaul mod aka The origin of species. Not even asking for a video of that, I just think it's an awesome mod every RE fan should try. Each character has only scenario, but they're like A+B, and I recommend going for Leon's campaign first (the blue font saves) as Claire's was released later and further modded. The game may crash in the basement, the room with the switches puzzle, someone made a fix for it (username was lexas.. something) though I think it must be patched in the main mod file by now

Ah yes, the OG RE2, I still prefer watching this in all its late-90s campiness over the remake, despite it being a superb game that sets the bar for remaking standards. I guess I'm still kind of bummed on how they flubbed the whole A/B scenario system in the remake, not to mention the interconnected storylines play out. It always felt more like an Arrange mode of "the scneario" rather than two distinctly different scenarios to play out.

General question. You probably said something and I missed it, but did you intentionally not pick up the weapon box key? I've never not picked it up since the lab where you use it is part of the required path anyway! Just curious!

the Custom Magnum maybe only saves a couple of bullets but the kickback ruins the boss cheese since Leon's position gets shifted. It's not a good gun contrary to what "upgraded magnum" means to most people.
