The fact that Suzi is friends with some of the voice actors from this franchise and got them to appear in this video has got to be one of the biggest flexs I’ve ever seen lol

I'm seeing a lot of comments saying I'm skipping Code Veronica; recapping every single game in the series isn't the goal of this video, guys. I don't hate Code Veronica; I never skipped it. I gave it an hour-long video that is readily available on my channel right now. THE PURPOSE OF THIS VIDEO IS JUST TO HIGHLIGHT AND CELEBRATE THE THREE GAMES THAT STARTED THIS SERIES WHICH ALSO HAPPENED TO BE MY ENTRY POINT TO RE. I'm not hating on CV by not talking about GO WATCH MY VIDEO ON IT. AND PLEASE STOP SAYING IT'S UNDERRATED OR I HATE IT OR WHATEVER. PLEASE.

I remember getting RE1 together with the first Tomb Raider - both momentous touchstones in gaming - the day after I'd gone through my MSc thesis presentation, in a foreign country (yes, older gamer here). Cold, rainy, slightly hazy day, small corner shop in a tiny road, made for picturesque memories. I had to wait for couple of days to fly back home and try them out on my PS1. I went for RE1 first. That first hour with that game literally blew my mind and has never been forgotten since. An experience etched deep in memory. Great video - thanks for your hard work - fortunate that the YT algorithm brought me here.

My late mum loved the original RE trilogy. RE3 was her favourite & she discovered the freeze round weakness & you bringing it up reminded me of her poking her tongue at me when she took him down faster than me with acid rounds. My personal favourite RE is RE2 which I have mastered to an art form with under 1 hour 30 minute runs. I feel the best versions of the classics are DS for RE1 & Dreamcast for RE2 & RE3. I own every console version of the original trilogy.

This is a very beautiful love letter to RE and it's community, thank you Suzy. Back in the late 90's, RE Forums were the very first community I was part of. My Online nickname was Brad Vickers hehe. This really bring back memories, I was about 10 yrs old when RE was released and my family moved to Japan around this time, so for me was always Biohazard. Honestly, Biohazard 3: Last Escape always made way more sense to me than RE:Nemesis, thank you for point that out. By far, not only the RE game that I played the most, the GAME I played the most, period. The original trilogy is like Star Wars original trilogy, is unique, it's not a matter of better or worse, it's just this unique thing, the right thing at the right time, a product of its time... The definition of Zeltgeist. Everything in this video is beautifully made and well put, thank you very, very much. Couldn't done better myself. 25 years of Love.

Amazing video. Thank you. Resident Evil (PS1) is STILL my favorite entry in the entire franchise. Not the Director's Cut. The original. It completely captured my 10 year old imagination when it came out. It was the combination of the locales, story, characters, cheesy voice acting and FMV intro video (that I totally bought into when I was a kid), gore, gameplay, replayability, pre-rendered backgrounds, fixed camera angles, amazing music, etc. It was the game that made me realize that videogames could be more than just colorful 2D platformers. And then two years later, totally unbeknownst to its existence, I stumbled across RE2 at a Target over summer vacation. I was forever hooked. The series became my videogame obsession for the better part of a decade ('96-'05) and is still one of my favorite franchises. Here's hoping Capcom continues their remake trend with CV, 4, 0, and a remake of the RE1 remake (no joke).

What a fantastic video. I'm so, so impressed. Really glad I found this channel. I was just about "old enough" (or so I thought) to have grown up with Resident Evil from the very beginning. Now, Resident Evil 4 is my favourite of the series and that often makes me contemplate whether or not I'm a "bad" fan of the series. It's barely even horror anymore in many stretches of its stunning running time. But man, was I scared by the hyper mobile and aggressive dogs from the older Resident Evil entries. The first time I didn't pick up the controller for two weeks, haha. But Resident Evil 4 finally gave me control and the ability to overcome *every and any* obstacle, no matter how the odds, that are usually against me. And that, to me, was always the more important life lesson - compared to: "Sometimes all you _can_ do is run away." But I really love all of the first four games and am so happy about the mostly amazing remakes. Sadly I never had the chance to play Code Veronica 😢 Anyhoo - thanks for an amazing video ❤ Happy very belated birthday, Resident Evil 🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️🧟

You're crushing it. That first RE zombie haunted my restless nights as a kid. Between RE and the 90s Night of the Living Dead remake I was completely terrified of zombies.

I remember when I was first introduced to Resident Evil. I was about 9 years old and it was the Christmas season a few months after Resident Evil 3 had just been released. My middle brother told me that my cousin and her husband who at the time lived right behind me in my guest house rented it so both my brothers and I went over there to watch them play it. The following Christmas season my brothers and I were out Christmas shopping with my mother and cousin. On the way home my oldest brother asked if we could go to Blockbuster and there he rented Resident Evil 2. Again we went over to my cousin's house to play it. The following year on my oldest brother's birthday which is just before Christmas my cousin got him a copy of the first game. We of course took it over to their house to play it. After that every time a new Resident Evil game came out we would either buy it or rent it and take it over to my cousin's house to play it. The original Resident Evil trilogy has become somewhat of a Christmas tradition for me. My family hasn't always gotten along very well. Especially my brothers and I. It was different when we we're over at my cousin's house playing Resident Evil. It cut through all of the tension in my family. The Resident Evil series is very important to me.

Those actor calls were delightfully cheesy, especially Nick Apostolides' glorious effort, and made a nice balance for the sombre reflections on the loss of Paul Haddad. Great video, Suzi!

I was 15 when the first game came out. I still remember being with a friend playing the game and that I was too afraid to play it myself. Suzi, your voice is just perfect for this type of video. Also the tribute to Paul Haddad got me teary eyed. Also it was a crime that "I'll give you stars" wasn't how re3 remake Nemesis finally died.

i can assure you, grown ass 19 year old me playing RE1 for the 1° time dished out a ludicrous amount of "fuck, fuck fuck!" when the dogs jumped from the windows in the first corridor of the mansion. as today no game or movie scene scared me like that. Oh and btw, your Motoko Kusanagi haircut is amazing.

This is the greatest, the sweetest, the most passionate of love letters and it was perfect. We've been a big weird family for 25 years and being here to celebrate RE together as the spoopy month begins is fantastic! There were the best 40 minutes of my week, Suzi! Thanks! I'm just gonna leave you with the other most iconic line of the whole franchise: ""Now here's a weird fucking door!"
