Carlos SAID he didn't know what she was talking about, that doesn't mean he's telling the truth, and it doesn't mean she believes him, which she obviously doesn't at first. 2. Being pissed off at the affiliation of the guy that saved you doesn't mean you'd rather be dead, because your feelings of their employer has nothing to do with that. Jill is very snippy toward Carlos at the start of the game, and it's entirely because he works for Umbrella. The moment she sees that his desire to help the city is genuine, she softens up toward him.

He didn't know who she was, but went ahead and took on a bio-weapon, however she doesn't even give him a thank you and this is after her takes her to the subway before telling her he works for umbrella. Remember Ada? Her character came off as cold and elusive (almost as if she couldn't be trusted) Leon still thanked her after saving his life. Your second point, Jill projects onto Carlos harshly at the beginning, thats fine, my problem is the whole f*** you comment for something being a relatively tame compliment, I mean the guy saved her life no less than minutes ago, respects her personal space, called her a "tall glass of water"... could have refrained herself from being snippy.

Your literal argument hinges on "guilt by association" and maybe you should check out the fallacy as to why that doesn't work in the real world. In fact lets throw abit of history your way, during WW2 after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the U.S. government created interment camps out of fear and hatred towards the japanese residing in the US. Just because someone is affiliated with a person, doesn't make them that person, we judge people based on their actions as a means to identify their character. Once again actions speak louder than words, Jill was in a life or death situation that Carlos literally saved her from without knowing her. If you even take the time to notice, Carlos mentions his mission to save civilians and he does care about saving them. Jill's initial reaction when he first mentions Umbrella is out of shock, however Carlos, the one who saved her, takes her to subway showing many of the civilians they saved, mentions hes willing to work with her saying "were all after the same thing" dude is literally being the nicest he can be. I think thats enough to register at first glance that Carlos may not be as bad as she thought and he doesn't share the same ideals as the corporation he works for. So no, the "F*** you" is uncalled for when you insult the guy whos job it is to save lives.
