Even something like Bloodborne has some stealth stuff available if you want to use it. Its never forced or necessary.

I think compared to the new RE games to say the original is one is going for movie like/serious type of game. Where as the original has almost a cheesy/b movie like feel to it. Where there are some parts that can be serious, but it isn’t super serious. Almost like the original is being funny unintentionally. All the characters are over the top/sort of serious. I mean Wesker is this dude who seems pretty serious in the beginning if you don’t know he is the traitor. In the end he comes across as this guy who seems almost unrealistically full of himself with sunglasses on. I enjoy games when they have serious moments, but a bit of corniness to it as well.

Ya know, that thing about pve resident evil, like thats just the mercenaries in like re5-6 but without the open aspect to them. It doesn't even need to be open. If they just did the mercenaries but with 4 player pve every character and the enemies particular to each game in each level its be plenty good as a game

Hey bawk, I have a question. I know you did an entire Tomb Raider marathon not that long ago, and I wanna know if you are ever going to play any of the retro tomb raider expansions? TR1: unfinished business for example? I know they aren't long at all, maybe about an hour and a half to 2 hours depending on if you know where you are going. I was thinking you could play all of the expansions in one sitting sometime in the near future? 🐔💜🤝

To be honest I really wouldn’t be surprised if it was camera and controls. The puzzles are probably not that difficult to figure out when you can do them, but having to work your way through to them with camera and controls. Can be a huge turn off for some people. I’ve heard people frustrated with even RE2R for being difficult. Resident Evil when it tries to appeal to older fans it tends to be not be huge for most other people. Maybe that why RE4 could be more popular since it isn’t straight up survival horror only, but also has the action element in it.

The thing about AI is that in spite of the fact that there's been a heavy push in to machine learning and AI over the last several years along with more advanced procession power it likely comes down to time and resource management. You can either stick to some kind of standard template whereas designing improved in-house AI would likely take programmers a long time to write, train and curate which may not fit the budget or timeframe set by the publisher. It wouldn't be a "one size fits all" either which is why the Xeno AI in Alien Isolation only exists in Alien Isolation. Money spent on improved AI is better spent on marketing with dumb AI.
