What remake based developers need to understand is the importance of attention to detail and maintaining the true spirit of the original. So much was cut out or change it makes my blood boil. @@filippo1852 precisely and the most annoying part about it was how true to the original they made RE2 remake but it's like after that they just gave up and it all became about a cash grab and hyping up nemesis appearances in the game so much to the point where they even forgot about major enemies like the grave digger worm it really just made no sense to me after beating the game and seeing there wasn't even dlc for the shit they missed it was such a disappointment I even sold my copy of the game some years back after beating it

The true model the developers and team should have followed would be Resident Evil HD Remaster. They not only stayed true to the original, but they enhanced it by adding new areas, characters, and events. I really hope the developers remake RE3, this time staying true to form -- it would be absolutely epic!

Out of the original 3 this one definitely had the best gameplay, though I will admit that the later games are far above and beyond the original 3 objectively in terms of gameplay and other technical aspects. RE4 would have been a much better game, probably the best in the series had it not had a self contained story and shared continuity with 1-3. RE5 was much more action oriented, though not terrible, and I agree 100% with the typical assessment that RE6 had fully transitioned to the action/adventure genre and had reached MGS/Kojima levels of convoluted plot. RE7 was a refreshing take on Resident Evil that was more than welcomed after RE6 and in my opinion barring REmake's Capcom should alternate between a 3rd person and 1st person perspective with every other future franchise title.

As a kid this game would always give me a true horror experience, the desolate city & destroyed alley ways, the erie ambience music with screams & moans in the background. The fact the camera is always fix location which doesn’t let you see the zombies into you get closer with a better camera angle. All played part in making one of the best remembered childhood memory. P.s Saferoom truly felt so safe to me ! There were times I didn’t even want to leave a saferoom being so scared lol

Hey, I've only read your first paragraph and let me tell you one little thing that you can apply to any fandom. Don't. Mess. With. The. Formula. If you grow up liking something a certain way and then it changes, there's no way anything would convince you of why that changed thing is also good. Now that varies from person to person. To me personally, I find the story progression in RE to be a natural one. But the problem lies in the direction and perspective they are presenting. The old school RE fans just want the same feeling that they had with the first 4 installations (4th being RE:CV not RE4) Here's the bottom line. If you like apples, then grab a bite then taste orange.. it's gonna mess you up. RE hasn't been giving the RE feeling fans know and love. It's been giving an alternate experience which isn't bad in itself.. But it just isn't RE. The new RE7 seems so different from what we know too. But imo, it's gonna be an improvement for the series since 5. there will be puzzles, item management (box confirmed), combining items and gunplay. Factors that are crucial an RE entry. My only 2 concerns for 7 (aside from it not being fixed cam, I got over that now) is: 1- linearity; I hope it is akin to the beginning hour demo where the linear parts are the tapes and the present day is opened for exploration. 2- The RE connection. I want old RE elements to be in the game in terms of environment and characters (Which I'm sure will be the case. I've already seen some behind the scenes shots that insinuate that there might be an underground lab or something. That's just speculation on my part)

joão soares Each game series has its problems, Assasins Creed had the problem of being repetitive and the missions didn't carry much weight to them. But I am not one to talk about AC cuz I'm not a fan to begin with. And that being said I can assure you that the old style REs weren't repetitive. And the journey was very heavy and extensive in both atmosphere and gameplay. You mentioned that you played games because of the story. I also play games for their story, lore and for their artistic value. But this is video games we're talking about and there's bound to be emphasis on Gameplay. I like games for what they are. Not expecting them to be something when they're not. BUT the thing IS: That is the rule for something that you don't have a background for. RE 5 & 6... are not standalone games... they are part of a huge series that generations grew up playing. So when you come with the shitty RE5 or RE6... Of course people will be upset. because that's not what's expected from it. RE4 started it all.. but RE4 is a different case. Because at the time, it was revolutionary as a game. We haven't seen anything like it. And it still had RE feeling to it. introducing the over the shoulder perspective was something gamers weren't used to. Not to mention that it was created by Shinji Mikami.. that actual creator of the series... so 4 is an exception. but what came after it is totally off track.

In RE2 Remake, Mr X alone was really terrifying and such a pain in the ass. Imagine him being able to run and to use rocket launcher, basically what Nemesis is doing. My all-time favorite RE!! I love them all but the biggest thing I can't stand about some of the newer ones is, #1- NO ZOMBIES! Why? I don't understand why some of the new games have no zombies. #2-To much human vs human fighting. You're suppose to be fighting off zombies, hideous mutant creatures, and occassional human enemies. #3-Too much ammo and herbs/medicine...that goes with the constant human fighting I suppose. I love RE Raccoon city, but 90% of it is shooting human enemies. The best part of that whole game is the fact of the nemesis is in it. These are just my opinions.

I respect your opinion but the enemies in re aren't meant to just be zombies, it's bioweapons/viruses that spread, like nemesis, tyrant, las plagas, j'avo, eveiline, etc. Tho everything is else is spot on, despite my love for those games. Then re7 came along and changed things and now we have a remake of re2 and a this on its way

the reason is everyone praised re2r so highly that capcom had no incentive to put much effort into 3. just imagine how much content will be cut from re4 remake, it'll probably be split into 2 games and still be missing a lot of content. and most will still praise and defend it. look at ff7r, they're splitting that into probably at least 4 games considering part one is just midgar and many are acting like it's one of the most amazing games ever. this will definitely start a trend of remakes being split into multiple games. in 20-25 years when ff7r is complete they'll probably start part 1 of a ff8 or xenogears remake. how people can desire such a stupid trend is beyond my comprehension. most have been so indoctrinated and dumbed down by the govt and media, they no longer have any common sense. they'll be lucky to live long enough to play 2 of these remakes by the time they're done milking them with several full priced games per remake. nobody even wants new, original games anymore, all i see is constant begging for remakes, it's absurd.

Johnny Connolly ah yes...the 1990s, when games were made with story quality but with limited game mechanics (due to the available technology). Games such as Sim City, Civilization, Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Sonic, Mario, Command and Conquer, Warcraft etc. Is it really too much to ask if gaming companies would just make a remastered version, but not change too much of the original storyline.

I liked the remake but so much is missing. I think it felt so short because there was no puzzles or back tracking. The clock tower was one of the most memorable parts of the original for me and they cut that out. I have a love hate relationship with the remake. The game looks amazing but I didn't feel satisfied.

I remember when I was 5 years old, my uncle was a senior in high school at the time, and he would play this game and I would sit down and watch. He would also give me jumpscares and I would laugh. Such good times.😆😂

This game is one of the best in the series. I just played it yesterday and it’s very engaging. It keeps you interested and on your toes. I know the remakes been out for a while already and it’s done, but it was such a big loss. A waste of money for gamers and a chance for the developers to put quick big cash in their pocket. They should just make the graphics with the new re engine and I’ll be happy.

I am now 53 years old. I played resident evil 3 nemesis several times in hard mode when it was released for sale (2000). I still have the game on CD for the playstation 1 with me and will never play it again because I sealed it in "foil" myself and now it's in the closet.

It was the first Resident Evil title I ever picked up. Ever. It was on Game Cube...and it completely sold me on the franchise, but I must admit, playing the other titles never felt as good as this one. Its always the first time for any good drug. ;) Oh and that part in the Police Station where you hear glass break and have to head back down stairs...made me jump 50 feet the first time I encountered that. I even paused it in a panic XD! Ah good times...thanks, SHN!

I relate so much to this. First RE game I played and it was on a PSONE. After that I played zero and 1. I never played 2 because I read so many people saying it was the best of the franchise, and I got jealous because RE3 to me was the best, haha how stupid. I only played RE2 a couple of years ago and though it kicks some serious ass, RE3 is my personal favorite.
