Less areas but you spend longer in each than in the original. You can beat the original faster than the remake. While I miss the Park and Clocktower, they collectively take 10 minutes to beat and are comprised of a handful of rooms that you mostly run through anyway. What IS missing in the remake is puzzles. There were definitely less puzzles and ones that are easy to solve. Also, replayability by the "choose your option" that branches the story path. I missed that too.

@bigevilworldwide He showed up at least 4 times before the clock tower, 5 if you count RPD twice. Several times in the later half. He was a great pressure put on you in a very stressful good way as well as a serious important part of the plot several times throughout the game, not just in the cutscenes. If you were playing the game not on easy, unless you were really good at the game, Nemesis could quickly and easily kick your ass. The special quick decision making happened a lot more than a couple times and Jirard showed several of them that were not just about Nemesis. I think you should play RE3 again without mercenaries or new game plus because you're forgetting a lot.
@adnanasif95384 жыл бұрын
@@hopelesslydull7588 You are semi correct. He does appear 5 times before clock tower but out of them only one appearance (once you meet carlos) is where he stalks you until you find the gems for the metal gate near the statue portion, in the rest he just disappears after crossing few one or two rooms and the novelty is gone right after the first playthrough resulting in becoming a nuisance according to filthy casuals. You can blame these so called casuals for complaining about mr. X in re2 remake because of which nemesis got nerfed here. The problem with re3 remake is that they made even hardcore mode quite easy this time. The remake shines a lot only in nightmare and inferno mode. The live selections didn't open new paths or change the scenario completely like og fans are making it out to be. They only changed few outcomes that's it. The only live selection moment that was worth it was the bridge portion of dead factory where you either push nemesis over the bridge or jump from it to save yourself. Resulting in any of the two endings.

@bigevilworldwide1 oh i do remember them. Nemesis was a huge stalker in RE3, Mr.X just showed u at plot points in RE2 during each character second scenarios
@blockyoxwinkle58294 жыл бұрын
If the Clock Tower had been it's own, slower segment, with a few puzzles that result in u raising the gate to escape, have the tentacle nemesis randomly follow u and sometimes stop pursuing you until he just busts back into a chase at random points, ending in a fight at the top where you knock him off with an explosion. That would have really fixed the pacing issues the game has. As it stands it's so weird to go back to Jill for a mediocre boss fight that's recycled later at the end. You play as Carlos for a very long period of time. As for Resistance, I wouldn't mind if he skips it. It's not well optimized and the co-op aspect isn't fun unless you gather a whole team, and finding a game as the Mastermind can be literally an hour wait. But the real insult to injury is how Jill has alternate costumes in the Resistance mode. When she has 2 old school costumes in the main game. Left a really bad taste in my mouth
@davosmando4 жыл бұрын
They should add the clock tower in a free DLC that integrates with the normal campaign. They could have Jill wake up for a while after she is infected and go through the tower with Nemesis stalking her from time to time. Jill would also feel worse as time goes on, then at the end maybe there’s a boss battle or a section that forces her to go back to the gate where she passes out again, leading to Carlos finding her and the rest of the game.

This is a really strange game. After my first playthrough I got the "it's too short idea" but then the score screen made me realize that it's around the size of every old school RE. I've platinumed it and my total amount of playtime is around 60hr, so not a horrible bang for my buck. I really enjoyed it but it does feel like it left out the park, the clocktower and a hefty chunk of racoon city. I think the main problem is not length but pacing and area distribution. Nemesis early introduction is counterproductive as we can't grasp the chaos of the city beforehand so our attention is immediately stolen by him. A good amount of the origibal re3 had a dreadful atmosphere when areas were introduced, then the hasty escape as Nemesis entered each one but the remake is just frenetic ll the time (really enjoyable though). I think the game takes control away too frequently to be able to enjoy every area. Nemesis feels underused and overused at the same time. On the characters, I like this Carlos better, he's really likeable, Mikhail and Tyrell too. Jill sometimes felt a bit too edgy or over the top but her witty, collected nature is still there at times. It is a reaaally strange game, like it has everything and nothing at all.

I've not played the original RE3, but I want to after this and I loved the remake personally. @@BleachMeister yes Nemesis is supposed to chase you around many areas like a mr. X on steroids and in the original game, he did. Though this Nemesis is far smarter and stronger than mr. X or his old counterpart. On nightmare and inferno he is a combo machine, and closes distance reaaally fast. It is a shame that he appears so little as an organic threat and so much as a scripted event. A lot of that has to do with the city portion being so short. In the original there was a lot of exploring in it and Nemesis always surprised you on your way out. That said, it is not a perfect game (the original) and many held it unreasonably high. The dodge is useless, the dialogue awful and the boss battles are bad, quite fun nonetheless. This game longevity is really weird, it threw me off at first but numbers don't lie.

@@thegreatpiginthesky3904 what try? I rarely have time to play and I was getting really tired after hours of playing Leon A knowing that I still have both for Claire and another one for Leon. Also, the campaigns don't make any sense with same boss fights and different fates for characters in A/B scenarios. Should've been clear campaign that tells the whole story that fits into the canon instead of that mess. I'd rather play short games multiple times than one that drags on forever. There's a reason I've played both Insomniac Spider-Mans and latest God of Wars only once, they take so damn long and my gaming back log is already never ending.

There’s a lot to like about it, but there’s a lack of interesting puzzles and a free roaming Nemesis. Just finished it last night I'm a slow player in these games. I obsessively save every time I do anything at all lol. And I scour every inch dor every item. So the game had me clocked in at about 7 hours. And then 9 and a half or so total? Which I can only assume means the higher number included menus and cutscenes? My playtime was also inflated with being at map screens or save rooms a bit while maybe fiddling on my phone or uh... packing a pipe But I got at least more than the 4-5 hours some people did. My roommate clocked in at 7 and a half. BUT my same gameplay pace got me 12.5 hours on my first playthrough of RE2 Remake. So that's not including the 2nd run with the next character. Now I don't know if that's the equivalent to the total playtime number in R3make or not. But even if it is. The idea is just my first playthrough was a good 2 hours longer at minimum, if not more like 4. And then there was a 2nd campaign to enjoy. I won't count the fact that you play through another 2 times to get everything since the changes are pretty minor by that point. But they're still there. Replaying R3make doesn't offer much other than just unlocking stuff to make it easier and quicker to beat. No variation at all. And less incentive to do so. That being said it was still a lot of fun. In fact there wasn't really anything I played in the game that I didn't like. I enjoyed all of it start to finish. But it's just rather disappointingly short for $60. Even if you never played the original. Just compared to the last remake it's still light on content. Resistance does not make up for the length to justify the price. Hardcore fans check it out maybe. Myself I just had to. Other big RE fans may still be upset, especially if they held 3 close to their hearts Everyone else wait for a sale.

RE7 is pretty close to a Metroidvania, kind of large areas that are all interconnected with increasing difficulty as you progress and get weapons and items to unlock new areas. All it needs is a larger world with more variety and you'd have exactly what you are looking for.

I've seen this game described as an expansion to RE2 Remake, a re imagining of RE3, and a disappointment. And I can honestly see why people would describe it that way. I know remakes can't be 100% the same as the original, but there are certain expectations that people have for them. Look at the Crash, Spyro, and Medievil remakes we got! They changed the look of some characters, got a graphical overhaul, and added or removed a few things, but they were at their core the same game as the originals! That being said, while I don't like Nemesis' redesign (lack of a chin, and the inclusion of a nose), what upsets me the most is the lack of a Regina from Dino Crisis costume. Stop ignoring that game, Capcom!

I feel like people have some weird attachment to the live selection system when in reality it often only gave you the illusion of choice. The specific instance you showed on screen was literally either climb up, or drop down and then go through one little tiny sewer line, come up outside of the room you just fell into a hole in. It's effectively just a time waster to choose the option to drop down the hole. Only like 2 of the choices in the game had any real impact on the game.

RE2R world record speed run is like 52 minutes or less. 2) Even though there were cut locations, some were extended and some added. 3) Nemesis is exactly like MrX was, when he pursues you.
