Resident Evil 4 Remake In tune with the harpoon Challenge guide

Since I just did the challenge, I noticed the following: If you are doing it slowly, Del Lago gains HP back and you need more then double of the shots to land on him. Instead of slowly trying to hit 30 shots, throw as fast as possible as many as you can. I ended up with a 40 seconds fight an 13 harpoons. There is a Video with even only 12 harpoons. Peace :)

I can confirm this worked. Best way to get this challenge done quicker is to do it on Assisted mode as it only takes a few shots to take it down

Saw an S+ Pro guide (Neon Slice, since it's a dick move to reference somebody's guide without dropping their name) where the guy did it with 11 harpoons, in less than.a minute. Idk how he killed it so fast, but it was dead after just 2 big jumping bite attacks. Meanwhile I took like 20 minutes and many attempts 😭. Bro doesn't even usually make his first save till after he kills the fish boss.

Some additional tips: increase the field of view and camera sensitivity while aiming in the camera settings menu. This provides a better view of Del Lago, and helps get on target more quickly. It made this challenge a lot easier.

I did it!! Did it in Assisted (obviously), and after trying over and over, I decided this was the last try, before I went back to continuing my no-healing run. Managed it in just over a minute, with 13 Harpoons. I managed to hit it with 8 harpoons before the first dive, then when it jumped and tried to eat me, I MAYBE hit it in the mouth, but it looked like the side, and I still took damage. Then I managed another Harpoon before it dived again after a few seconds. Then it did that thing where it circles you from really far away, and I was really nervous to try and hit it from that distance, but I managed to line up the shot and it it twice. Then it started to come at me, and I hit it once inside the mouth, and it died! I was nervous that I might of missed it without realising, so I used the playstations ability to record stuff that already happened (which honestly has always seemed like witchcraft to me, and I love it) and watched the entire fight like a hawk, and every shot caused blood. I started the next chapter, looked at the challanges, and YUP! Including the S+ runs, this was my 9th playthrough, and I can finally say. In Tune with the Harpoon challenge. Complete!

If a single water drop is between Del Lago and your harpoon, you're screwed.

This chalenge is a pain in the arse, because the uncertainty whether the shot counted or not.

Very much so if you see the blood it counted but if you don’t and only see the water splash you gotta restart which makes the challenge take forever to get done

In the challenge menu it doesn't count how many times you've missed, like how some of the challenges track?

@Donmcron333 For example: for the Handcannon challenge it will show under the description of the challenge each and every time you've used a special weapon, just in case you make it really far in the game and didn't realize you used one of the weapons. I was hoping they did the same for the harpoon challenge with times youve missed so you can reset, but apparently not. You basically just have to watch really close if any blood comes out after it hits.

​​@@TIMELESS_gamingTechnically it also gives you Challenge Points that you can spend to buy stuff in the Extra Content shop, but all the stuff that's actually worth getting, all the bonus weapons and special accessories (like the chicken head that gives you more defense) require a challenge to unlock, and those challanges give you enough challanges points to unlock them right away anyway Like if you want the primal knife, you need to first shoot every Clockwork Ramon statue. Doing that, gives you 1,000 Challenge Points and unlocks the knife. The knife, costs 1,000 Challenge Points. So while this challenge gives you Challenge Points, you don't actually need them, and just end up spending them on concept art, cosmetic costumes and accessories (aka the ones that look nice, but don't change any stats or give any bonuses like infinite Ammo) So people only do it for the trophy/achievement, and for the sense of satisfaction (sorry I said that in such a round about way. Honestly, I wanted to be sure, so I went and did a ton of math, looking into all the challanges we would have to do anyway, before we got a chance to buy any bonus items worth having.....only to realises waaaaay after I started taking notes and doing maths, that every time we unlock a bonus item or accessory.the challenge we need to do to unlock the item, always gives us enough points to buy it 😭 so much time wasted, when it couldn't of been more obvious that 99% of the challanges points aren't needed. I was stuck in how Resident Evil 3 remake didn't give us enough points, and forced us to do a ton of boring bs challanges if we wanted to get all the bonus items, but RE3R gives us enough points after just a single playthrough

For PC players, it might be wise to cap the game to 30fps to get this achievement. Once i capped the fps, Leon's arthritis is gone and yhe harpoons always landed where i aim lmao.
